Reception & Admin - Dudhope Castle

Description

We are looking for volunteers for our reception desk at Dudhope Castle. This will allow you to expand your communication skills and build confidence in a people-facing role. As a volunteer, you will greet visitors and tenants of the building, answer the reception phone and direct incoming calls, and be involved in a friendly community of like-minded organisations.

Shifts are available from Monday to Friday throughout the week, with additional volunteer events optional throughout the year. Experience is optional for this role as The Circle will provide training and supervision from our staff team. You will gain work experience from volunteering with us and be included in a vibrant and diverse community of volunteers and tenants of Dudhope Castle.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Circle is an award-winning Community Interest Company with a More Than Profit® ethos and was founded in 2016. Its headquarters are in Dundee with an additional hub in Glasgow. The Circle community is made up of like-minded organisations and individuals who: share The Circle Workspaces; access business advice through The Circle Consultancy; learn at The Circle Academy; and develop skills and confidence through The Circle Volunteering. The Circle also operates an online professional networking community. We organise regular in-person and digital events with expert speakers.

Restrictions

Experience required: No experience is required-we can offer support and training at The Circle. Additional training will be offered when possible. We can provide a CV reference after three months of volunteering.
Travel details: The Circle Dudhope Castle, Barrack Road, Dundee, DD3 6HF. Dudhope Castle is a 15-minute walk from the city centre. It is also on the 28 bus route which stops next to the park. Alternatively, there is free parking around the back of the castle.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We pay travel expenses up to £5 for public transport or fuel. Food and beverages will be available for volunteers while at The Circle.

CPR Champion - Scottish Borders

As a CPR Champion you will support St John Scotland as part of their partnership with Save a Life for Scotland. You will get the opportunity to attend various events within your local area with other St John Scotland CPR Champions and CPR Leads ensuring that participants are equipped to undertake potentially lifesaving bystander CPR according to current policies, regulations and protocol. You will also be trained on demonstrating defibrillator usage to participants. Case Work Volunteers

The RAF Association is a member-led, welfare charity that exists to ensure that all members of the RAF community are supported, when they require it. Volunteering for the RAF Association is a great way of developing your skills and meeting new people, at the same time as supporting members of the RAF community in your local area who need your help.
