Description

Driving our Long Wheel Base delivery vans, you will deliver food to other charities throughout Tayside and Fife. The food is delivered to groups serving those experiencing food poverty. FareShare receives donated food from the supply chain that is surplus and would end up in the waste stream.

Environmentally and socially this is a great cause and we welcome those interested in helping in whatever way possible.

Organisation aims and objectives

Transform Community Development works with vulnerable individuals within the city to provide accommodation, support, advice and opportunities in a variety settings. The organisation also aims to increase public awareness of issues surrounding homelessness through education. All the organisation's services are provided in a non-judgemental way and without prejudice.

Taster details: Come into the building to find out information on what our project is and speak with staff to see what would be required from them.
Training details: Once you have received an induction you will shadow a member of staff/volunteer until you are happy with your role. You will also be able to speak with the volunteer co-ordinator about any issues or queries you have.

Van Driver

ROOTS WWV (Woman with a Van) is a scheme run by ROOTS HHFS Food Bank, a grassroots community group based in Bonnybridge, in conjunction with Falkirk Council. We help those moving forward from homelessness move into accommodation by offering the van to transport household items, and sourcing and collecting start up items for those who are moving with little to nothing. The scheme is Falkirk wide and referrals are made through Falkirk Council homelessness services. As the project continues to grow and we reach more people, we need help with managing the load! We are seeking a volunteer who can drive our van and help with the moves and collections. If you can help with the lifting and carrying then that's an added bonus too! This is a flexible role but many of the drives can be during the working week. If you have a full drivers license and are keen to get involved with this friendly and proactive group, then we'd love to hear from you!

Are interested in becoming a volunteer driver? Do you enjoy driving and helping people? If you have your own vehicle and able to offer regular commitment, we have opportunities available in Angus and Dundee. We are looking for volunteer drivers to help us transport: - adults to day care - children to school - people to their GP or hospital appointment - people with learning disabilities to college. We pay your mileage expenses and provide appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). We are looking for some new, enthusiastic volunteers who are keen to provide transport for our members to attend our Social Café. Our Social Cafes are open to those over the age of 65 and want to get out to socialise and be a part of the community. You would be mainly helping with taking members to the café and back to their homes. However, you could also help in: - making teas and coffees for the members. - doing activities or assisting members with the activities. - socialise with our members. - setting up and clearing away. In return, you will be supported with appropriate training and regular supervision sessions with the named contact, invites to volunteer events and expense reimbursements.

An opportunity to help your fellow Berwickshire residents, who might be elderly or disabled, improve their lives by driving them in specially adapted vehicles to health appointments, shopping or social opportunities in the local area. Berwickshire Wheels is an important service in our community. It fits both the people using the service and those providing it. If you enjoy driving and socialising and want to be a part of something positive, please contact us to join our team. All drivers must have a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check done, this is done online via Zoom now, and we cover the cost.
