Greyfriars Kirk has been welcoming over 50,000 visitors from around the world, every year. We are looking for volunteer Welcomers to join our team. In a nutshell, your role will be to greet our visitors and ensure their experience with us is unique and welcoming. Sound like fun?
It’s your job to personalise their visit by sharing your knowledge, encouraging their questions, assisting them in the gift shop, and making everyone feel welcome!
From the signing of the Covenant and our place in Scotland’s history, to Edinburgh’s most beloved dog, Bobby and our connection to the Harry Potter franchise, there is something here for everyone!
Built in 1620, the Kirk (and Kirkyard) sees more than 400,000 tourists a year. From April to October, we open our doors to visitors throughout the week. Our sanctuary contains a magnificent pipe organ, a small museum, and shop. The Kirk is used often for music and arts, so it is a busy and vibrant place.
