We’re looking for an enthusiastic person with experience of fundraising, research into new sources of grants and funding. We need to become our supporters’ charity of choice, maximise our opportunities, work proactively and engage more donors to ensure that we are here when people need us most. This role involves organising our fundraising team including delegating jobs throughout the year and arranging the fundraising calendar.
As Healed Scars embark on finding more ways to support female abuse and trauma survivors to recover from the impact of COVID 19, we are seeking an experienced Fundraising Officer to nurture existing and develop new funding relationships to grow our income and facilitate the development of our charitable programme.
Specifically, you will:
• Develop and drive plans to achieve robust income targets with existing and new trusts and charitable foundations.
• Develop and submit compelling proposals and applications of the highest standard to secure both restricted and unrestricted funding.
• Proactively develop the trusts pipeline, with a particular focus on large and medium trusts.
• Innovatively seeking new sources of fundraised income, digital fundraising and development of the charity’s supporter base.
To be considered for this role and to hit the ground running, you will need demonstrate a solid track record in raising funds, be a team player and an excellent communicator. The role will be based remotely with some travel to our Stirling office locations if required (travel expenses will be reimbursed).

The aim of the Community Connector is to support people affected by social isolation and loneliness and to help them gain confidence and to reconnect to their community in partnership with existing and new partner organisations. We will place the person at the centre of what we do and help them by offering positive encouragement, practical help and emotional support, for up to three months, depending on their needs.
Full training and excellent support is provided to all volunteers.

The interpreter will support customers who are learning English and will be required to speak fluent English and one other language (Arabic, Farsi, Polish, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi or Bengali). Citizens Rights Project is focused on providing information about the EU Settlement Scheme, which involves application process for the settled or pre-settled status for EU/EEA/Swiss nationals, and their family members, living in the UK.
We are looking for community leaders, caseworkers or local organisers with experience in social work or similar (i.e. citizens rights, community development, cultural integration and diversity, migrant issues, vulnerable individuals and communities, etc.) who would like to volunteer with us.
Your role will be to provide information and advice about the EU Settlement Scheme, and assist eligible Eu/EEA/Swiss community members with the application process.
As our volunteer you will:
- learn about the EU Settlement Scheme
- receive free training and OISC Level 1 (limited to EUSS) accreditation
- acquire experience providing 1-2-1 advice under supervision of an experienced immigration adviser
- provide language and technological support in making applications to the EU Settlement Scheme
- work closely with vulnerable EU/EEA/Swiss community members with complex needs and assist them in the
process of securing their legal rights in the UK
- join the network of organisations who support European communities in the UK
We offer volunteer placements to willing and eligible candidates who can dedicate a few hours a week of their time.
The placements are open to anyone with right to reside in the UK, and is not limited to UK and other EU nationals. However, speakers of other European language as well as English are especially welcome to join the programme. We especially look for candidates from Scottish Borders, Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Western Islands, Orkney, Shetland and Highlands.

Our volunteers perform a variety of roles in order to help us provide for survivors and vulnerable people. We currently have a 'Volunteer- Support Worker' opportunity available. This opportunity would help women with life controlling issues and those who have been a victim of human trafficking and modern slavery.
Searchlight Scotland is passionate about pursuing freedom and restoring lives. One of the main aspects our volunteer support workers do is to help at shifts at our safe house to guide our clients with life skills like cooking and cleaning and to be assisting them. This can include:
- Assisting with the running of the house (ensuring rotas are followed, cleaning, checking up on
Clients e.g.: sleeping/meds/eating/social/mood)
- Assisting case workers with admin.
- Take women to appointments.
- Help women learn life skills in a practical way.
- Encourage independence and use of progression plans.
- Encourage participation in activities.
- Run informal activities.
- Help clients get to Junction (our office base at Bon Accord Terrace).
- Sleep shifts.
- Be friendly with the women but keep boundaries.
- Document all events and handover.
- Stand by.
Within the team, support workers report to the operations coordinator and the manager. They may also work closely with the case workers.

We are seeking to establish at least one Student Ambassador in each British university who is able to represent CARA's activities by setting up a society and campaigning on our behalf. We would require the Student Ambassador to promote academic freedom through organising events to debate issues surrounding the topic, organising fundraising and awareness raising events to support CARA grantees and acting as a point of contact for our charity. The Student Ambassador would write an article or two on CARA in their student newspaper. These would also be published on CARA's website and publicised through our social media. The Student Ambassador would be provided with materials with which to set up a stall at a Freshers' Fair and to assemble a society committee which would be in contact with CARA committees at the other 95 CARA/Scholars at Risk UK University Network member universities.
Our Language Cafes are friendly and informal weekly sessions where we invite everyone to chat in English and learn from each other about living in the UK. So far we have had over 25 different nationalities, aged be-tween 20 to 70+, with a variety of professions and educational levels. Every person attending our sessions is invited to enjoy an informal and welcoming environment that promotes tolerance and integration. Cafetistas come to learn about Aberdeen, meet people who share their circumstances and meet volunteers who would encourage them to improve their English and learn more about the UK.
Every week we speak about a different topic or run an activity to encourage cafetistas to improve their language and personal skills and integrate into their community, whether in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire.
