The arts is an area where we are all free to express ourselves , be liberated in a way that we can't in our usual regimented , institutionalised world. It's a place where we don't have to colour within the lines, but we can go over the edges and...well...who knows where that might lead.... We see the arts as emancipation and an area where we can all be unified by transmitting and sharing expression, unified by love, the arts and expression. We know that expressing ourselves through Creativity makes us all feel great and empowered! Fledgling Arts Collective Central believe that there are no 'amateurs' in the Arts & Creativity- WE ARE ALL ARTISTS ; and that the feel good ethos we encourage can really help with issues like building self esteem and helping to lift depression for instance. We are currently recruiting new online support volunteers to support our vital work. Your role will include interacting with online members giving feedback on the creative arts posts they leave in a positive constructive way. We are looking for people who can spare a little time to help an older person practise, give them a little encouragement and be there if they need a little help remembering how to do something going at the pace that they feel works for them. You don 't need to be an expert just know your way around the internet, shopping online, downloading Apps etc... We will provide you and the person you are supporting step by step photo instructions for whatever the task is that the person would like to learn how to do. Initially the support will be either by telephone or outdoors. In time as the restrictions ease and guidance allows these may move to be indoor in cafes and potentially other indoor settings but this will be dependent on how both yourself as the volunteer and the person you are supporting feel about this.

Digital Champions are required to support older people get engaged digitally with equipment from the Connecting Scotland programme. The Connecting Scotland programme provide iPads, internet connectivity and support to develop digital skills for people who are socially isolated or lonely and meet the following criteria: Are older people (aged 60+) and/or have a disability; Are digitally excluded – do not have an appropriate device and/or are not connected to the internet at home; and Are on low incomes so cannot afford to buy a device or pay for internet access. Getting online will help them access public services, connect with family and friends and contribute towards reducing social isolation and loneliness. Role description: A Digital Champion will support someone to use their iPad or Chromebook to become digitally included, There is training available and you don’t need to be a digital master, just be confident enough to help people learn the basics to get up and running with their iPad. Digital Champions do not need to be technical people, they just need to be confident in their own digital skills and, more importantly, they should have good interpersonal skills. As part of their work with users, Digital Champions will give people regular, informal support for 6 months.

To be considered for this role and to hit the ground running, you will need demonstrate a solid track record in raising funds, be a team player and an excellent communicator. The role will be based remotely with some travel to our Stirling office locations if required (travel expenses will be reimbursed). We’ve reviewed all of our practices through a risk assessment process, in line with Government Guidance ‘working safely during Covid-19’. With the help of a volunteer to support our business objectives it will ensure that service users have that extra bit of communication with our company. In terms of the recruitment aspect we would love volunteers to be able to support in organising job packs and other admin tasks that may come up if the volunteer is happy to assist with them. The best gift you can give someone is your time. Main tasks These will include; providing admins related tasks, working closely with the service manager, providing social media support, providing daily tasks such as preparing job packs and phoning service users/arranging appointments. To help organise events/trips for staff and service users to ensure that the First Home Care are going out their way for their staff and service users. Required skills, qualities and experience. Be able to make time, once or twice a week, to support the business objectives alongside the service manager for up to a period of three months. Must be a Good listener and empathetic ,Honest and reliable ,Friendly and calm. If you use a computer at home or work, and perhaps support family and friends with their tech issues, you are likely to have the skills we need: -A passion to help others. -Good IT and computer skills. -Knowledge of standard operating systems and software. -The ability to communicate well with people. -Patience and empathy. - What are the benefits to me?: As an AbilityNet Tech volunteer you can: -Change the lives of disabled and older people. -Benefit from technology and disability training. -Network with a nationwide team of other Tech volunteers. -Be flexible with your volunteering and plan it around your other work and home commitments. - How much time will I need to offer?: The service is client led and will depend on the demand in your local area. The work is flexible and you can arrange visits around your home and work commitments. First Home Care is a health and social care company with services located throughout Scotland. We offer Care at Home to support people within our care to live their lives as full as possible. We are also a part of the Real Life Options family as they have other types of services which include supported living accommodation, day centres and care homes for individuals with disabilities Loneliness at this time is heightened and the current social distancing measures are particularly difficult for some people. With the help of a volunteer to support our business objectives it will ensure that service users have that extra bit of communication with our company. We hope to get the volunteer involved within our social media and recruitment campaign to gain some new ideas about how we can improve our social media presence. In terms of the recruitment aspect we would love volunteers to be able to support in organising job packs and other admin tasks that may come up if the volunteer is happy to assist with them. The best gift you can give someone is your time. Main tasks These will include; providing admins related tasks, working closely with the service manager, providing social media support, providing daily tasks such as preparing job packs and phoning service users/arranging appointments. To help organise events/trips for staff and service users to ensure that the First Home Care are going out their way for their staff and service users. Required skills, qualities and experience. Be able to make time, once or twice a week, to support the business objectives alongside the service manager for up to a period of three months. Must be a Good listener and empathetic ,Honest and reliable ,Friendly and calm. It is a benefit to enjoy making phone calls and be confident speaking to new people as we have a lot of people we speak to on a daily basis within the company such as service users/ staff. Can maintain confidentiality. Good IT skills and admin skills would be beneficial. A knowledge of social media (However not essential). Finally, a happy and positive approach to learning as any volunteer that comes on board will have to learn how our company operates. Where and when will volunteering take place This can be agreed with the service manager in terms of times and days. We aim to be as flexible as possible. Commitment required. For continuity and routine we look for at least 2 hours per week for the benefit of the services and the volunteer the opportunity to build and develop relationships within the company.

Help build and update our website and other community projects sites. You will have a lot of freedom as long as our centre has a fresh, clean and content filled website. We currently use pre-build website for all our website, so there is no need to be a professional web developer. Everyone with a positive attitude and a will for doing something nice for the community is welcome. This is a great opportunity to develop your IT skills and gain experience in project management. All volunteers are greatly appreciated and provided with excellent support.
