Equal Futures creates connections for people with a learning disability or autism in Scotland.
Volunteer Professionals use their expertise and knowledge to help a person we support and their family navigate through a challenging time or a period of transition.
Equal Futures creates connections for people with a learning disability or autism in Scotland.
Befrienders help a person we support build their confidence and participate in social activities within their community. This may include going for walks, participating in clubs or classes together, or attending Equal Future’s monthly social events.
We require volunteers to help with our befriending groups Some examples of what we require are Pick up/drop off bus chaperon, general set up and break down of equipment, befriending - chatting with attendees and serving refreshments.

Volunteers are involved in a wide range of roles and day-to-day activities that support the running of each store for two hours or more a week.
On the store floor you could be involved with providing excellent customer service, processing transactions on the tills, replenishing stock and putting up eye-catching displays to entice customers in.
Behind the scenes, volunteers get involved with store housekeeping and administration, sorting through donations to find those hidden gems and preparing goods for sale by sorting, steaming and pricing items.
Do you have specific retail skills to donate? We're also looking for volunteers with skills and ideas around visual merchandising, identifying stock generation channels and raising awareness of our charity shops. Using your local knowledge, you could help to maximise the shop’s potential.
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:
• Sort through donations, find hidden gems
• Prepare items for sale
• Maintain the shop floor and provide excellent customer service to our shoppers
• Operate the till
• Help out with basic housekeeping

Home-based volunteering, Board/trustee role
Ayrshire Tigers PFC is a community-based Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) based in Ayr which works in partnership with the Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA) to provide equal opportunity for powerchair users in Ayrshire to engage in team sport.
The Club is an independent organisation run by its own Board of Trustees which is elected by its members.
The club is focused on providing opportunities to play, coach and support powerchair football and is open to everyone.
The team is currently playing in the Scottish Powerchair Football Premiership.
The Club was formed to benefit powerchair users living in Ayrshire to engage in team sport and prevent isolation by offering a place for people to come and feel welcome, have fun and be part of a team.
Ayrshire Tigers PFC is seeking to recruit suitably experienced and qualified people onto our Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to join the founding charity trustees of Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club, to help it develop, grow and become sustainable.
In an increasing challenging financial environment, we are seeking to increase our working partnerships, improve our effectiveness, continue to develop creative approaches to meet need and increase our income.
To help achieve this, we are seeking new volunteer Board Trustees, particularly those with an appropriate level of the following knowledge, skills or experience:
Grant Funding Applications
Fundraising
Marketing (selling and promoting the club in the community)
Admin
Social Media
Club Development
As a trustee you will help to set and maintain the charity’s vision, mission and values. You will also help to ensure that the charity:
• pursues its charitable purposes as defined in its Governing Document
• complies with relevant legislation or regulations
• works towards sustainability by developing a funding strategy
• maintains the financial stability of Ayrshire Tigers PFC,
• resources are well managed and used effectively.
As a trustee you will also be involved in appointing and supporting Ayrshire Tigers PFC volunteers. New Trustees should be able to attend at least 75% of meetings per year, actively participate, to read papers in advance of meetings and participate in other tasks as arising from time to time.
It is important to note that no one individual is responsible for the governance of the charity, rather we act collectively and make decisions based on collective responsibility.
Not had experience as a trustee? Don’t worry - We have support in place to support all new trustees.
A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential.
In return for your time, the club will provide any training deemed necessary and put you through your PVG.

Social isolation and loneliness have a major impact on the health, well-being, and life expectancy of adults with Down’s Syndrome. Down’s Syndrome Scotland’s exciting new Friendz Meetups programme aims to tackle the loneliness and social isolation experienced by adults with Down’s syndrome across Fife.
Friendz volunteers will form part of a team of trained, skilled, volunteers who will support small groups of adults with Down’s syndrome to come together for monthly social, community Meetups. By becoming a Friendz volunteer you can help adults with Down’s syndrome get out and about more, grow friendships, build their community confidence, self-esteem, and independence skills by leading group activities, engaging with group members and providing peer support.
Community Shopping Volunteers wanted to do a weekly shop for older and vulnerable people shielding in the Giffnock, Clarkston and Newton Mearns areas of East Renfrewshire. Commitment of one supermarket shop per week on a Monday or a Wednesday. Volunteers with their own car or bicycle required as deliveries are made direct to the customers home. Who are we:
AILN initially grew from a group of disabled people who wanted to see a change in the way that community care services were offered to people. When direct payments were first introduced in 2003 they were keen to promote this as an option for independent living. AILN have been providing high quality Self-Directed Support (SDS) advice and information to the people of Ayrshire for over a decade.
Since 2005 the three Ayrshire councils have jointly funded the SDS support & information service.
Our organisation has now grown to a team of 17 full/part time staff and now on top of our SDS service includes, a Self-funded Payroll department who provide a range of payroll services for Personal Assistant (PA) employers.
We also have a Development department who are funded by the Scottish Government, The National Lottery Community Fund and the South Ayrshire Health & Social care partnership. Our Development team provides training, Peer support, local drop in’s, social media content and creation of new literature and case studies. It also includes a Micro enterprise project, which is the creation of microenterprises to help address the challenges within health & social care in South Ayrshire and we have a Dementia Befriending service that provides 1-2-1 befriending and wellbeing cafes across Ayrshire.

Haven Products, a Scottish company, social enterprise organisation and registered charity, is seeking an independent Non-Executive Director preferably with knowledge of Scottish Enterprise, Government and Commercial businesses. Haven Products is a subsidiary company of the Rehab Group, an Irish organisation which is a social enterprise business and registered charity. As Haven Products is registered as a charity the appointed Non-Executive Director will also operate as a Charity Trustee.

The Organisation:
The Rehab Group is an Irish company, independent voluntary organisation and registered charity providing services and support for people with disabilities for over 70 years. We are an internationally recognised and pioneering social enterprise organisation enabling more than 10,000 people with disabilities to live lives of their choosing. We are a campaigning organisation that advocates on behalf of the people who use our services and their families.
In Scotland Rehab operates as Haven Products, which provides meaningful employment to people with disabilities. A key supplier on the Scottish Government Supported Business Framework, Haven Product also operates as a commercial partner to both Public Sector and Private Sector organisations. This is delivered through the provision and supply of cost-effective quality products and services to key client partners while also supporting their Corporate Social Responsibility policy goals.
Board Meetings:
There will be a minimum of four half-day board meetings a year for the Haven Group. There will also be a requirement to support a potential 4 / 5 additional meetings a year. Meetings are held in the premises of Haven Products, Larbert FK5 4RU, some meetings are held remotely.

Volunteers will also support the group members in identifying activities, groups and places of interest in their local community that they can access independently.

Further details about this role:
- Person centred support to young people and adults with Down's syndrome in a social group situation.
- Enable adults with Down's syndrome to develop their friendships with each other by helping to make meeting arrangements, supporting independent travel and planning the social activities they choose to do.
- To provide discrete individual/group support and promote a positive group dynamic, encouraging participation, responsibility taking and positively acknowledging skills and qualities of group members.
- To ensure group safety and wellbeing through dynamic risk assessment and adaptive decision making.
- Communicate positively with participants, parents and carers.
- To establish and maintain appropriate boundaries within the volunteering relationship.
- To support members to think about what's on in their local areas and encourage positive lifestyle choices.
- To participate in support, individual and peer supervision meetings and training events.
