Rainbow Rogues is a locally based charity that provides comprehensive support for children and their families with additional support needs or disabilities, with a particular focus on children up to primary school age. We strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child and family feels valued and supported. From play sessions to educational resources, we aim to empower families to thrive despite the challenges they may face.
The Treasurer role is a key position within our Board of Trustees, assisting with overseeing the financial aspects of our charity. As Treasurer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of Rainbow Rogues.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who shares our passion for supporting families with ASN. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of financial management principles. Your dedication and proactive approach will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and make a meaningful difference.
Nourish is a vital support for many members of our community and our support centre plays a large part in the
support we provide. We feel that our support centre provides a lifeline to many and as such we want to make sure all
contact is positive and effective in hearing, understanding, and supporting, whether that is in person, via phone, and
by email.
It is with this in mind that we have vacancies for part time volunteer receptionists, to support and cover the reception
area at our Support Centre. The role will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and apply admin and reception skills.
We are holding a volunteer Taster morning on 15th March 2024 at 10:00am so come along and join us!

Female Befriender wanted for a woman in her 30's who we support, to meet up on Friday afternoons or early evening, weekly or fortnightly for outings, social activities, coffee and chats.
You will be the first point of contact for clients within the Bureau, along with helping to ensure the smooth running and organisation of the Bureau is many different ways.
Depending on what your are comfortable with you might be doing the following:
-Welcoming clients
-Answering telephone calls/emails and passing messages to the appropriate person or arranging appointments for clients
-Updating databases and information systems
-Filing and photocopying
-Taking minutes at meetings
-Ordering stationary and other supplies
Board members are responsible for the strategic management of each bureau, including oversight of planning, evaluation, staffing, managing finances and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Skills and experience are welcome, but training is provided. Interest in the community and bureau is most important.
Helping with raising funds for the Bureau.
-Researching potential opportunities for raising funds for the Bureau
-Developing fundraising strategies and plans
-Working with Board Members/Treasurer and Management to meet fundraising objectives
-Organising events to raise money for the Bureau
-Drafting and delivering presentations to potential and existing funders
To help provide effective and efficient advice to members of the public.
-Interviewing clients
-Finding, interpreting and communicating information so clients can make informed decisions
-Act on behalf of clients, when needed
- Negotiating, referring and drafting letters for clients
-Completing clear case records
-Recognising the root cause of problems and participating in taking action
Our volunteer Advisers can either be generalist advisers (they advise on many different topics) or they can become specialist advisers (advising on a specific topic(s))
At our clubs on Wednesday and Saturday evenings we run a coffee bar selling tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks to our members, who have learning difficulties. The work involves serving customers, making tea and coffee, adding up how much is due and giving change where necessary. The Wednesday Club runs from 7pm to 9pm and the Saturday Disco runs from 7pm to 9:30pm. Coffee bar helpers are asked to arrive by 6:30pm to help with setting up the coffee bar,
This role is to assist with the governance of the Branch; in particular by attending the monthly meetings of the Management Committee and by taking responsibility for agreed tasks suited to their abilities. Also to be one of the key-holders responsible for opening and locking the building before and after club meetings. To help with our three clubs (which include a disco, indoor games, arts and crafts, Scottish country dancing).
