Are you passionate about cycling and walking? Could you inspire young people in Aberdeen to cycle or walk more? Volunteer with I Bike!
I Bike is a really fun and rewarding project to volunteer with that offers plenty of opportunities to get outdoors for cycling-related activities, boost the CV, gain experience of work with children and young people, meet new people and learn new skills.
Good training and support is provided to all volunteers including an online Welcome Session, Child Protection Training, Cycling Skills and Bike Repairs. For most activities you don't have to own a bike to join in - bikes and helmets can be provided depending on availability.
I Bike aims to help children and young people become more active through taking part in cycling and walking activities. You would be volunteering alongside a dedicated I Bike Officer in schools, supporting activities for children such as learn to cycle, playground cycle skills, led bike rides, led walks, bike maintenance and much more! Through the adventure of Scouting, young people get to take risks in a safe environment, and have their first taste of responsibility. We give young people experiences they’ll never forget. The sort of adventure Scouting offers is the chance to experience something different and the opportunity to challenge yourself. When a Beaver Scout wakes up the morning after a sleepover, or Cub Scout has just got over her fear of heights by completing her first abseil - that’s adventure.
Come join us in providing that adventure and sharing #SkillsForLife. Volunteering with our sections needn’t be a weekly commitment, if you’re not sure if it’s for you ask us about the four week challenge.
We have three sections in the group for you to choose between, depending on just how much you want to “grow down” as a means to relax. Our Beavers (6-8 year olds) and Cubs (8-10½ year olds) meet on Tuesday Evening, whilst the Scouts (10½ – 14 year olds) meet on Fridays.
You’ll be getting involved with delivering games and activities for our young people, whether that’s dishing out tails or getting them unstuck with something they’re making. Assistant Section Leaders will additionally take an active part in the planning of these activities and generally assist the section leader in running the section.
You don’t need to travel to the other side of the world to make a difference.
For further details please contact Bryan McKellar,, Executive Committee Member at E Mail: joinus@27thaberdeen.org.uk or telephone: 07981 477560.
ClubSport Aberdeen is a vibrant body directed by the clubs, for the clubs. As an independent charity, we provide a unified voice for sport clubs in Aberdeen at the top level across the city through our relationship with the Active Aberdeen Partnership.
Our purpose is not only to provide the AAP with club input and a club perspective on arising matters, but also to ensure that Aberdeen has safe, sustainable and supported clubs. It does so by using expertise from within the club network as well as from partners in the wider network. This gives Aberdeen’s clubs the ability to develop and grow their membership, workforce and structure to provide their members with the best possible experience of the sport.
Membership is open to all clubs across Aberdeen, and generally around 70-80 clubs register with us on an annual basis.
The board of Club Sport Aberdeen is made up of a board of volunteer trustees who meet regularly to discuss programmes and initiatives that will benefit sports clubs across the city, which includes projects such as the North East Youth Panel and Active Schools Voucher projects. However, we would be keen to support clubs to deliver projects that also impact on mental health, increasing confidence and breaking down barriers to access sport and physical activity.
The board currently have vacancies for Vice Chair, Treasurer and Welfare Officer positions to support the work of the board and various projects, with the Vice Chair and Treasurer positions also being charity trustee positions.
• TREASURER - Oversee all financial aspects of ClubSport Aberdeen and be responsible for regular reporting to the ClubSport Board and help submit annual reporting to OSCR.
• VICE CHAIR - support and deputise for the Chairperson in leading ClubSport Aberdeen in developing and delivering its objectives.
• WELFARE OFFICER - responsible for promoting safeguarding throughout ClubSport Aberdeen and working with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment is achieved.
Board meetings take place on a bi-monthly basis, with other meetings scheduled as required. Time commitment would generally be 2-3 hours per month, depending on the meeting cycle and membership processing.
A fantastic opportunity to help and make a real difference for club and grassroots community sport in Aberdeen. All help is greatly appreciated. For further details please contact Mark Pain, Support to the Board of Trustees at email: mapain@sportaberdeen.co.uk or telephone: 07721 727797.

We’re committed to making continued improvements to how we work, across all parts of the organisation. We strive to remove barriers so that people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can experience the benefits of a life enriched by dance. We welcome a diversity of perspectives in the work that we support, the classes we teach, the talent we nurture, and the people we recruit. We believe this makes us an organisation that is stronger and more meaningful to the communities we serve.
The next period will see us deepening our commitment to artists, audiences, and participants across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, and thinking about how we best serve our communities.

Being a Community Facilitator is all about delivering a variety of lifesaving first aid skills in community engagement workshops and projects, within local communities, and primary and secondary schools. A lot of these projects involve talking about and demonstrating the basics of first aid to community groups that can include children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
An example of events you could be delivering a first aid talk and demo to, are primary and secondary schools, small university groups, local community groups, charities, summer fairs, shopping centres. Some of the skills you could be teaching include how to provide CPR and apply a defib, different bandages and how to use them, and basic information on various health conditions. Not only that but all the training needed, is provided by us at no cost to you!
A fantastic opportunity to help. All volunteers make a real difference and are greatly appreciated.
