Grandmentors is an award winning inter-generational mentoring programme, matching volunteer mentors aged 50+ with young people aged 16-24 who have had adverse childhood experiences. In partnership with Perth and Kinross Council, Grandmentors has now launched in Perth and Kinross.
Our volunteer mentors help young people navigate the transition to independence by guiding them through life skills such as managing finances, accessing employment, education and training, and supporting their health and wellbeing.
This opportunity is for volunteers (normally aged 50+) who have life experience and skills to offer. However, if you are younger than 50 and feel you could offer valuable support, please do apply or contact us to discuss further.
It is important that you have good people skills, communication skills, patience, and can offer a regular commitment of a few hours per week (weekly or fortnightly). This role requires PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme membership, which will be handled and processed by us.
We provide our volunteers with comprehensive training, on-going support, and volunteer expenses.

Strength & Balance volunteers transform the lives of individuals by creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for them to participate in exercises, which can help improve mobility and reduce the risk of falls.
Whether you are leading a class yourself or supporting a trained instructor to deliver activities, you'll be making a real difference to the people that you support.
If you would like to have a positive impact on people in your community then this is the role for you.
Preparing and leading strength and balance activity sessions, sharing your knowledge about the benefits of regular exercises, introducing music and movement to the group or welcoming and chatting to attendees are some of the tasks you may be asked to do in this role.
We also have opportunities available for people with specific skills, so please tell us what your strengths are when we meet.

Home from Hospital Volunteers are needed to provide a friendly and confidential service to people as they return home after being in hospital. Our volunteers offer one-to-one, short-term, practical support, which enables patients to return home with confidence when no other support is available. You might help with shopping, collecting prescriptions, going for short walks, or a ’run’ in the car, or just being there when people begin to do things for themselves.
Your role will involve elements of lone working and building a relationship with those you visit, which is hugely rewarding for both you and the people you support. We also have opportunities available for people with specific skills, so please tell us what your strengths are when we meet.

The CHAS Craft Group was set up to bring together CHAS volunteers with a passion for crafting. Volunteers are based all over Scotland, from Aberdeenshire to the Borders and are involved in a variety of craft activities, from knitting to card-making. The group produces craft items to sell at stalls and events throughout the year to raise vital funds to support children with a life-shortening condition across Scotland.
The Group Lead heads up the group of 10 and is responsible for organising and delivering group activities. This will include co-ordinating delivery of craft items to relevant events and organising monthly online catch-ups with members of the group. The Group Lead does not necessarily need to be a crafter but would be responsible for making arrangements to sell crafts
All expenses for supplies will be reimbursed. They will be able to arrange for them to be supplied if this is easier for the volunteer.
