Volunteers are needed to assist with the planning and delivery of the Campsie Fest Events which happen throughout the year. This will involve contacting performers, working with others on the team to plan events relating to Music and Art and organising refreshments. Volunteers would also be required to compere some of the event, introducing performers etc.

Wave Radio is a broadcasting service for the wellbeing of patients at Dr Gray’s Hospital -- and by broadcasting online, they aim to bring the community into the hospital and the hospital into the community. This volunteering opportunity is also a great one if you have a love in music. They are not just looking for people to present on air, but would also welcome people who have a bit of spare time to catalogue music or music production. For people interested in any of their presenter slots, please know these programmes can be pre-recorded for broadcast at a later time. Right now, volunteers can do their shows from home, through the studios at Dr. Grays. Volunteers who have an interest in specific musical genre (i.e./Classical, show tunes, soul etc. ) or have a wide musical taste can find out more about how to help with their breakfast, afternoon and early evening programmes. A Young Carer is someone up to the age of 18 who provides unpaid support to a relative, friend or neighbour who due to illness or disability cannot manage to live independently without the carer’s help. Responsibilities may include practical support such as personal care, cooking, housework, or emotional support. Aberdeen Young Carers are looking for volunteers to spend some quality time with a child or young person between the ages of 5-18 on a regular basis, getting to know them, and building up a positive relationship by being reliable and non-judgemental when listening to them. A befriender volunteer will support the Young Carer to enjoy activities and experiences within the Aberdeen community to reduce isolation, and promoting self-esteem and confidence. This is a flexible opportunity and you can commit to meeting with a Young Carer for a few hours on a fortnightly or monthly basis depending on what time you have available. This would take place out with school hours, predominately over evenings or weekends. As a Voluntary Workshop Assistant you will become part of a team within our farm and gardens, set in beautiful surroundings 5miles outside of Aberdeen city centre and close to the Deeside Railway line. The opportunity does not require you to have previous experience, we just ask that you are caring, patient and willing to help our pupils, have an interest in people and different ways of communications. We're looking for someone to: 1. organise publicity for the calls for submissions to forthcoming issues of our magazine 2. organise publicity for our events including the launch of new issues and the occasional reading events we hold ourselves or contribute to 3. assist with the planning and running of our events 4. run our social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram 5. draft and issue media releases as required, seek opportunities for publicity in the media, and maintain our database of media contacts 6. draft our twice-yearly newsletter to our database of supporters and friends 7. draft and recommend an annual public relations plan for Pushing Out the Boat 8. review, refresh and add to these activities. 9. attend and contribute to monthly team meetings. Early Intervention is a neurodivergent safe space for neuro divergent children and their families. A non-judgmental environment where you can be your true authentic self. Managed by volunteers we offer specialist support - Speech and Language therapy, Music Therapy, Pet therapy, and opportunities for children up to 9 years old to socialise with their neurokin whilst empowering them to embrace their identity, we also offer opportunities for semi structured play, arts and crafts and sensory messy play. Early Intervention is a volunteer-led organisation which has been providing services to neurodivergent children and their families since February 2022. This is an exciting time to get involved with us as we are seeking to develop the services we offer and to look at making the transition to becoming a Scottish Charity. Looking for people to help us take Early Intervention to the next stage. People who can help us to sharpen the governance of the organisation to make us into the kind of organisation we aspire to be. This opportunity would be attractive to someone with experience of committee work, or people, who want to gain experience in managing and developing an organisation.
