Suitable for groups, One-off volunteering
Kiltwalk are looking for volunteers to provide event support at out start lines in St Andrews and Broughty Ferry and our finish line at Slessor Gardens in Dundee. Tasks will include helping with set up, welcoming and encouraging walkers, assisting at the info tent and luggage drop off / pick up point, directing walkers and handing out snacks, water, medals and merchandise.
Shift times are as follows, however we can offer some flexibility:
Venue Kiltie, Mighty Stride Start, St Andrews: 7am - 2:30pm
Venue Kiltie, Wee Wander Start, Broughty Ferry: 9am - 1pm
Venue Kiltie, Kiltwalk Village, Slessor Gardens: 12:30pm - 9pm
Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016. The kind-hearted Kiltwalk community have taken big strides for charities close to their hearts and together with The Hunter Foundation have managed to raise a staggering £42.5 million to date. All funds raised have been distributed to 3,330 Scottish Charities.
Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line. Be part of a feel-good event, soak up the Kiltwalk atmosphere and meet like-minded people. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience in the events industry. It truly is a rewarding day!

Suitable for groups, One-off volunteering
Kiltwalk are looking for three volunteer cyclists to provide event support between St Andrews and Tayport as part of the Dundee Kiltwalk. Are you a keen cyclist? Sign up now to volunteer at the Dundee Kiltwalk 2024! We are looking for six cyclists to join our Route team and help support thousands of walkers as they take on the Dundee Kiltwalk and fundraise for a charity close to their heart.
As a Route Kiltie, you will be patrol a designated area of the route on bike, reporting any issues via radio to the Event Control Room (ECR). Other tasks include communicating with the Route team via Whatsapp, encouraging and supporting walkers, checking in with Route Motivator Kilties within your zone and assisting with the removal of signage.
A bike and helmet can be provided if required.
Shift times are as follows, however we may be able to offer some flexibility.
Route Kiltie Zone 1: 7:30am – 4pm, St Andrews - Guardbridge
Route Kiltie Zone 2: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Guardbridge - Tentsmuir Forest
Route Kiltie Zone 3: 10am - 6:30pm, Tentsmuir Forest - Tayport

We are Guide Dogs and we’re here to help people with sight loss live the life they choose. Our ambition is a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support they need to live their lives to the full.
We don’t just provide life-changing guide dogs, we also provide advice, skills, emotional and practical support for people and families living with sight loss to help them live actively, independently and well.
What does the role involve?
Are you an organised person with strong administration skills who enjoys being part of a team? Fundraising secretaries do a fantastic job in keeping our fundraising groups running efficiently... From taking minutes, maintaining accurate records, booking collections and writing letters of thanks to our supporters, the tasks are engaging and most importantly you'll be making a real difference by helping Guide Dogs to provide life changing services to people living with sight loss to help them to live their lives independently!
The Museum of Communication aims to study, collect, preserve and exhibit items that tell the story of communication from the days of pre-electric telegraph to the latest state-of-the-art technology. The museum is run entirely by volunteers, and they are looking to grow their team with Events Assistants.
The museum hosts lectures throughout the year on a variety of topics, and engages in outreach activities in schools, clubs and societies in the local community. As an Events Assistant, you can get involved with planning and hosting lectures, or with arranging and attending outreach events. Recent lectures have included Commonwealth War Graves and D-Day, and typically include historical topics and the role of communication within them.
If you would like to gain experience of events, have an interest in history, or are passionate about engaging local people in learning, this is the perfect role for you.

Would you like to raise money to support local families?
Team Jak is looking for volunteers to help out with their fundraising events – hosting stalls, attending community events, placing and managing collecting cans in local businesses, and any other activities that you would like to get involved with.
As a fundraising volunteer, you will raise money to support young cancer patients and their families to have a safe place to go to explore their interests and feelings.
This role is very flexible, and volunteers can get involved with events in their own area.
We have opened our cosy space at the Pioneer Cafe, at the Community Church Hall for anyone who is keen to get out of the house for a few hours to meet other people, relax and have a chat. Volunteers can help socialise, chat and support staff serve teas/coffee, warm soup and snacks at the cafe.
Volunteers are not expected to undertake care sector roles, but support individuals by chatting, socialising, helping out in the kitchen, set up, tidy the cafe and clear tables, etc. Could you offer a few hours per week?
We're looking for an adult volunteer who will provide a supportive friendship for a socially isolated young person aged between 8 and 18 who lives in South Ayrshire. Ideally this will involve meeting with their young person every couple of weeks for a few hours, spending time together accessing local activities.
This includes:
• Be matched on a 1:1 basis with a young person.
• Go on regular outings and activities with the young person.
• Have the opportunity to participate in group outings/activities and also volunteer support sessions.
• Keeping in touch with the Project about the young person’s achievements / growth and activities, and to receive ongoing support from the Bfriend team.
• Open minded as we work with young people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
• Following training, to be able to have empathy and understanding of some of the issues encountered by young people referred to the team.
• Continuous focus on the needs of the young person who you are matched with.
• Willing to participate in a broad range of activities mutually agreed with the young person.
• To be a positive adult role model for the young person and, very importantly, to have FUN!
• Have an awareness of and be able to adhere to Bfriend’s policies and procedures.

ARCHIE Child Bereavement Service (part of the ARCHIE Foundation charity) provide direct support to bereaved children and young people throughout Grampian.
Due to an increased demand in our service we are seeking volunteers in a variety of areas including: responders to visit bereaved families, fundraisers, event and admin helpers and a treasurer.
Key objectives of our Volunteers are: To support the work of GCBN through contributing to the range of services provided. To make a positive difference to the lives of the children, young people and their families who have been affected by bereavement
Our responder service entails people visiting bereaved families and undertaking direct support work with children and young people and their families. We also run event days for children staffed up by our volunteers. We are particularly keen to recruit a volunteer with a financial or accounts background to take on our treasurer role.
Excellent support and training is provided to all volunteers e.g.: induction includes self awareness, policy and procedures of charity. Training in child protection and bereavement support. Support from coordinator and board of trustees.

We have a new volunteer role available with our Events working groups! You would be helping once a week with the following:
-Events organizing and facilitating
-Taking part in regular events working group meetings
-Contacting potential speakers and facilitators
-Promoting events by writing blog posts and promoting on social media.
-Compile a report on the event.
As a volunteer led organisation, our capacity to offer thorough training on events coordination is limited so we would expect you to have some experience or to be adaptable. There will be some initial training on the way SCCAN operates.
The start date is flexible to suit your availability.
Our events and meetings are currently done online through zoom.
Commitment could range from once / week to twice a month.
