Would you like to help girls and young women in your community have amazing adventures, unforgettable experiences, and loads of fun? We have a healthy budget for events and activities for our young people, and we\'re looking for someone to shape and coordinate these. A truly exciting opportunity to have fun putting on awesome and varied events! At Girlguiding we do everything from camping to campaigning! We’re all about girls and young women laughing, learning and having adventures. Why not join the fun?
Youth volunteering with Girlguiding Scotland looks great on a CV, and can improve skills like teamwork, leadership, communication, creativity and IT. It’s great experience if you want a career in events planning, youthwork or education. You can get extra training like First Aid, the disclosure check for working with children is paid for by us and we’ll help you every step of the way. Our volunteers are what makes Girlguiding amazing, and we welcome people of all backgrounds and walks of life. Come have a chat with us, you won’t regret it!
How can you help?
We are recruiting a team of Charity Ambassadors to help develop engagement across each Region, to maximise opportunities to raise funds and increase support from the Community. You will be actively involved with The Charity on the ground and play a key role working alongside the Regional Community Fundraisers, as and when required:

Representing The Charity in your area, by undertaking presentations & cheque collections at schools, local companies & community groups
Helping us to recruit new fundraisers and supporting those who are already signed up for a campaign, in your area. For example, attending a local Twilight Walk or promoting The Big Bake to local companies.
What impact will you have?
By amplifying The Charity's voice in your local area, you'll help increase the impact of fundraising campaigns & help grow funds and support us in accelerating a cure for everyone affected by a brain tumour diagnosis.

Passionate about the Charity and our vision
Flexible and willing to get involved as and when opportunities arise

Live Music Now Scotland has a Scotland-wide Volunteer Network. Our volunteers give practical support in concerts to free the musicians to do their job of entertaining and engaging their audience. Concerts take place in care homes, dementia centres and other community settings. The tasks for volunteers are very varied with everything from finding the off switch on the communal TV to encouraging audience engagement and helping venue staff complete evaluation forms on the impact of our work. Perhaps you have specific skills and experience we could use. No musical ability is needed, just a degree of common sense and an eye to notice what needs to be done.
We are a flexible organisation and would aim to work around what you can offer. We offer travel expenses where necessary. If you are interested, please contact Rachel Spencer at rachel.spencer@livemusicnow.scot.
We’ll take it from there.
Known as ‘Bud’, the 18-tonne truck transforms into an interactive mobile micro museum and travels across Scotland visiting schools and attending events across the country. To date Bud has visited most local authority area’s telling the story of the Poppy and the Lady Haig Poppy Factory and we are hoping to have visited all local authorities area’s by the end of 2022.
Exhibits within the interactive mobile micro museum include historical artefacts, interactive displays and the moving stories of veterans and their families who have been supported by Poppyscotland. Visitors to Bud will also have the opportunity to make their own poppy using the same methods as the 34-stong team of disabled veterans at Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory in Edinburgh, who still hand-produce the three million poppies and 10’000 wreaths for the annual Scottish Poppy Appeal.
We are seeking volunteers that we can call upon when Bud is in that area. The role of the Bud Heritage Volunteer is to meet and greet people as they arrive on Bud, to assist the outreach workers with any activities (if schools), show people around Bud (if an event) and encourage people to come on board at events.
Volunteering on board Bud is a unique, interactive and fun opportunity to gain experience working with young people and our supporting staff with informative sessions and learning more about the work of Poppyscotland.
