The Comradeship Circles service aims to reduce loneliness by offering older members of the ex-service community the opportunity to enjoy regular group camaraderie by telephone. A Comradeship Circle will host typically six people on the same day and time each week to chat about a range of topics and interests over the phone. A Volunteer Facilitator or Supervisor will be on every call to encourage discussion and ensure the conversation flows.
We are looking for Technical Support Volunteers who will ensure the smooth running of the Comradeship Circle by connecting veterans to the call, monitoring connection throughout the hour, and updating the contact management database. This role is home based and requires access to a laptop, headphones and the internet.
Main tasks include dialling in the veterans and connecting them to the circle an updating the charity database.
1-2 hours per week at the same time each week (with some flexibility for cover) over a 6 month minimum period.

• Receiving items donated by members of the public

Award winning IT charity AbilityNet is looking for IT Support volunteers to help people get the most out of technology. We support older and disabled people to use technology, from setting up a new device, to showing how to use zoom or do an internet food shop.
The role would take place in your local area, face to face with clients or help over Teamviewer. You don’t need to be a tech guru to help out. If you use a computer at home or work, and perhaps support family and friends with their tech issues, you are likely to have the skills we are looking for. Relevant guidance and excellent support is provided to all volunteers.

Since Universal Credit came online in Clackmannanshire, CTSI have employed an IT and Employability Trainer within their team, who has a focus on supporting claimants with the online system. This is done on a drop-in basis across the County.
As demand for generalised IT support is growing as we emerge from the pandemic, CTSI recruits IT and digital support volunteers to assist in supporting people on a 1:1 basis. The volunteer will also be recording the client's name and what they assisted them with.
Tasks may include:
- Assisting with online job searches
- Meet people 1:1 or through small groups while maintaining Covid restrictions
- Help people build their confidence by walking through general IT tasks including: how to use Microsoft Word to write a CV or cover letter; setting up and/or using an email account etc.
- Assist with CV/cover letters/job application forms
- Supporting people to make their online claim for Universal Credit, and updating their online journal.
**This role needs volunteers to have strong communication skills, not necessarily experts in IT hardware and programs.**
This role will be based in various locations across the County, and so you would be able to choose the location(s) that suit you. CTSI are looking for a commitment of at least one session per week, which usually last between 1-3 hours (depending on the location).

The RAF Association is a member-led, welfare charity that exists to ensure that all members of the RAF community are supported, when they require it.
