The 70/30 Campaign is aiming to reduce child abuse and neglect by 70% by 2030. As a 70/30 Ambassador you will be empowering your local community to protect our children by spreading awareness and gaining support to prevent child abuse and neglect from happening in the first place. You will gain new skills, and be part of a large network of volunteers and professionals, while making a real difference in your local community and across the UK.
The role is very flexible and depends on your skills and on the needs in your local area, but you can take part in a range of activities, such as: spreading awareness with people you know and on social media; fundraising; organising events; engaging with MPs, MSPs, AMs and councillors; engaging with local press; expanding your local 70/30 group.
Ambassadors will take part in a training session with a member of the team and are invited to join the bi-monthly national conference call with other ambassadors across the country. Ambassadors usually give 2 or more hours of their time a week, but get in touch if you are interested and don't have much time available as there is always some way you can help!

You would be joining a team of volunteers, helping to provide a safe, welcoming space where visitors can relax and enjoy a friendly chat and a variety of activities, such as cards, dominoes and occasionaly crafts. Our visitors are people from all walks of life who need support to deal with challenges to their mental health.
Volunteers can choose from a variety of options:
>9.30am to 2.30pm Making soup, serving, joining in activities
or
>12noon to 2.30pm Serving, helping to clear up, joining in activities. (Everyone has lunch together)
A monthly rota ensures that volunteers can tailor their volunteering times to fit in with other commitments. Some work once a month, others every week or once a fortnight. We would be happy to discuss details with you should you decide to apply-and we're hoping that you will. Preliminary visits would be very welcome.
Training and support is also provided and all volunteers are greatly appreciated.

The Comradeship Circles service aims to reduce loneliness by offering older members of the ex-service community the opportunity to enjoy regular group camaraderie by telephone. A Comradeship Circle will host typically six people on the same day and time each week to chat about a range of topics and interests over the phone. A Technical Support Volunteer or Supervisor will be on hand to connect everyone and ensure the call runs smoothly.
We are looking for facilitator volunteers who will join the group phone calls, which last up to an hour, helping to facilitate discussion, developing resources to enrich Circles in response to member's interests. Currently this role is home-based and access to either a landline or mobile is required.
• Main tasks include - Welcoming members to the circle and to facilitate group discussions and ensuring all members have a chance to participate. Creating and developing engaging resources in response to circle participant’s interests.
• Reporting any concerns or issues with the circles to Supervisor.
1-2 hours per week at the same time each week (with some flexibility for cover) over a 6 month minimum period.

ARCHIE Child Bereavement Service (part of the ARCHIE Foundation charity) provide direct support to bereaved children and young people throughout Grampian.
Due to an increased demand in our service we are seeking volunteers in a variety of areas including: responders to visit bereaved families, fundraisers, event and admin helpers and a treasurer.
Key objectives of our Volunteers are: To support the work of GCBN through contributing to the range of services provided. To make a positive difference to the lives of the children, young people and their families who have been affected by bereavement
Our responder service entails people visiting bereaved families and undertaking direct support work with children and young people and their families. We also run event days for children staffed up by our volunteers. We are particularly keen to recruit a volunteer with a financial or accounts background to take on our treasurer role.
Excellent support and training is provided to all volunteers e.g.: induction includes self awareness, policy and procedures of charity. Training in child protection and bereavement support. Support from coordinator and board of trustees.

Talkable offers a talkline to anyone affected by panic or anxiety.
We currently have a range of ways that you can help as a volunteer as we continue to grow and provide ever more vital support to people. Opportunities to join our team of volunteers include:
*Phoneline Volunteers – you will be required to provide anxiety relief over the phone to our service users.
*Phoneline Team Leader – you will be required to manage the phoneline volunteers as well as be available on the phone.
*Message Line Volunteers – you will be required to provide anxiety relief to our service users over our Facebook page, full training will be given.
*Promotion Volunteers – you will be required to create social media posts and reach out to companies to make our services known more.
*Funding Volunteers – you will be required to help come up with funding ideas to support our vital services.
*Policy Assistance Volunteers - we are also looking for a volunteer(s) who can help us with policy work.

As a Bud Heritage Volunteer, you will support the delivery of the Bud project when Bud is in your area. This could see you supporting in one of the key tasks below:
-Welcome members of the public and groups (schools, girl guides, brownies, cubs, cadets etc.) visiting Bud on their arrival
-To deliver activities both indoor and outdoor as planned by the Bud team
-To assist with evaluation of Bud by encouraging feedback and collecting data

Inchgarth Community Centre provide a fantastic programme of activities for the community with the tremendous help of volunteers. Inchgarth has over 170 sessions of activity per week-serving every age group and section of the community. As a big and vibrant community centre, we offer a large range of activities for all ages and welcome a range of charities at the community centre.
We have a great opportunity for people to help as Gym/Gentle Exercise Instructor Volunteers. We are looking for people experienced in fitness instruction and/or with gym experience to help people get the best out of the keep fit and gym facilities at the community centre and progress safely. We are also planning sessions targeted at people over 60 years of age.

Project work - Alongside our core services, we are starting like to develop digital projects across our local community in Scotland. In 2023 we started working with young women in a Dundee secondary school, helping to empower and enable the ‘Women in Tech’ movement. In 2024 we will scale up this project and look at other partners we can collaborate with to help reduce barriers to employment for those in our community.

The use of a car is essential in order to travel to a client's home.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life limiting condition that currently affects around 1000 people in Scotland. The Butterfly Trust aspires to improving the quality of life for people affected by Cystic Fibrosis by providing support, promoting people's rights and helping them to live independently.
After expressing an interest in this role we'll get in touch with you for a discussion of the role in more detail. An application form has to be completed, followed by an interview. Volunteers then must attend an induction event and and we will complete membership of the PVG scheme on their behalf
Our support workers provide social support in their local community for people affected by Cystic Fibrosis. They offer a listening ear and help to negotiate official systems that include housing, benefits, education, employment and independent living.
The support worker is our first point of contact with clients in their area, responding to requests that are often for help to acquire home improvements, disability related benefits or just someone to talk to. Desirable qualities required include good verbal and written communications skills, sensitivity and an adaptable approach. Training and support is provided; and expenses reimbursed.
Support workers can also be trained to provide advocacy if they wish to be more challenged, learn new skills or perhaps make good use of those they already have.
The Butterfly Trust provides unconditional, non-judgemental, confidential services that are designed to improve the quality of life for young people living with Cystic Fibrosis. These outreach services are delivered by trained volunteers who provide face to face support across the country.
The support worker role offers an opportunity to utilise your professional or personal life experience
for the purpose of enhancing the life of a family or individual living with the impact of Cystic Fibrosis.
Support Workers need to hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
