Current opportunities

We have exciting opportunities for people to assist volunteering at the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums. As a Museums Collections Relocation Volunteer you can either help at the museums Kittybrewster Store and/or Aberdeen Treasure Hub in Northfield assisting in moving reserve collections, artworks and collection items to the Art Gallery. Working on conserving and identifying all items before and after the moving as well as packing and unpacking. Some admin tasks will be involved. Training in handling will be given. All Volunteers will be given the opportunity to join our team in conducting tours of our venues if interested. A fantastic opportunity and all help is greatly appreciated. Please contact Lorraine Nielsen at LNielsen@aberdeencity.gov.uk / Telephone: 01224 523673 for further details.

Volunteer Tour Guides Wanted! Due to our continuing commitment to offer the best visitor experience possible the Museum has started a guided tours programme and we’re looking for volunteer guides. Now you’ve read our plans we hope you’re as excited by them as we are! To take the first step in becoming a volunteer tour guide contact We have exciting opportunities for people to assist volunteering at the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums. In 2017 Aberdeen Art Gallery will launch our public appeal to promote the reopening of Aberdeen Art Gallery following the £30m redevelopment project, and to encourage and inspire everyone in the North East of Aberdeen to get involved and be part of the picture. This is a really exciting time as volunteers will find out insider information about the progress of the project, and will be encouraged to use their enthusiasm to inspire more people to show their support of the project. One of the parts of the public appeal will see people making donations to help ‘move’ To Pastures New from Aberdeen Treasure Hub back to Aberdeen Art Gallery – visiting some key locations around the city along the way. Each donation will help move ‘The Goose Girl’ along her route. We can’t open the gallery without her! We’re building a small stand to take into public places to help inspire people to get involved, by donating, and by sharing selfies with the artwork, and are looking for volunteers to help accompany the artwork in its crate as it visits locations around the city. A fantastic opportunity to be part of the major #IAM Moving To Pastures New - #Inspiring Art and Music Public Appeal and all help is greatly appreciated. Please contact Lorraine Nielsen at LNielsen@aberdeencity.gov.uk / Telephone: 01224 523673 for further details.
