Cornerstone operates across Scotland to deliver person centred support and care to those who require our services. At Forrest Walk we are a registered care home, providing 4 x residential places, 2 x respite places and 2 x day care places for individuals with a physical disability. Some of the people we support also have a learning disability.

Current opportunity

Friendly, enthusiastic, sensitive volunteer required to join our team working in a small care home which provides support for up to 4 x residents, 2 x respite users, 2 x day care users (adults). Must show a positive attitude towards disability and a strong commitment to equal opportunities, as well as being caring, reliable and a good listener. Will work in the centre or out in the community, alongside other staff, accessing social opportunities of the client’s choice. Will help clients to achieve goals, maintain/develop self esteem, and to build relationships. Will support our clients within the centre to develop/maintain skills, and to take part in activities of their choice – eg: cooking, crafts, music. There will be the opportunity to access free training, and take part in fundraising events as and when they arise. Volunteers who have a particular skill which they wish to lead a regular activity in – eg: music – would be gladly considered.
