Current opportunities

A Receptionist/Facilities Assistant is needed to help with the smooth operation and welcoming atmosphere at One Dalkeith. By performing a blend of traditional receptionist duties and facility related tasks, this role not only supports the daily functions of the organisaton but contributes to the safety and enjoyment of the members of the community who use our facilities. Tasks include being the first point of contact for visitors, creating a welcoming and positive experience for them. Providing accurate information in reply to enquiries and direct visitors to the appropriate person, room or activity, as required. Ensuring the visitor log is maintained and security protocols are followed. Providing a tour of the hub, explaining the spaces and how they can be hired. Conducting regular inspections to ensure the hub complies with health and safety regulations. Helping set up and take down rooms for meetings, events and other activities.

Are you a film fan? One Dalkeith requires volunteers to help run our monthly cinema. Tasks will include setting up chairs and the screen, greeting guests, checking tickets, providing assistance to guests who need help, resetting the space at the end of the session and cleaning up. In the event of a fire help the building to be evacuated. This is a customer service role, requiring good communication skills and the ability to lift and move chairs. Training and support will be given.

The Greenhouse About The Greenhouse is a free space for the community to share hobbies and grow ideas. How does it work? Individuals or groups from the local community have the opportunities to host an activity of their choice for an hour or two, on Saturdays between 9:00 – 16:00 at the Hub. How do I run an activity? Provide activities@onedalkeith.info with details of your proposed activity, so we can ensure we can accommodate it in the Greenhouse space. Maybe you’ve always wanted to share a hobby, hold a discussion or book group, start an origami club, share your language skills, create crafty projects, or launch a human library. Everyone is welcome and the options are only limited by your imagination (and the size of the Roundtable!) So, what are you waiting for? Come inspire and connect with like minded people in your community.

Join our team as a Community Outreach Volunteer and help spread the word about One Dalkeith! This role will be to distribute leaflets and inform the community about our initiatives, events, and services. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with local residents, promote community activities, and make a positive impact. Do you like meeting new people and attending local events such as fairs and gala days? Could you distribute leaflets or man a stall on our behalf at these events and engage with community members to provide information about One Dalkeith?
