Bo'ness Community Bus Association

We are a registered charity, which runs a ‘not for profit’ scheduled daily minibus service, plus a hire service.

Our membership is free to anyone over sixteen who lives in the Bo'ness and Blackness area. Our organisation is managed by a small group of voluntary trustees, who along with our staff of three drivers and operations manager, sustain our minibus service.

Because we are all users, customer service definitely comes first. We aim to provide clean comfortable minibuses, and the highest standard of customer care.


Current opportunity

Volunteer trustees are required to support the running of the local community bus service. This is purely management/guidance; there is no driving required. We provide transport services for the local community, particularly those who are elderly and/or isolated. We are a small team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about maintaining and expanding the service for the people in and around Bo'ness. COVID-19 has had a severe impact on our business and we need to review what we need to do, how we do it, and why. We are looking for 2-3 individuals who are willing to spend a couple of hours per week, supporting the development of the Bo'ness Community Bus services. We run local services, scheduled services to Edinburgh, and various contracts for school children. Our trustees help to come up with new initiatives, apply for grants and loans to support operations, manage the small team of drivers, and report to the various regulatory bodies. We don't expect people to have transport experience - most of us don't, but we do ask that you care about the local community and are happy to learn as you go. We need people who are creative with ideas, can do admin tasks, and do a bit of market research. Basic computing skills (such as email, Word documents, etc) would be useful.
