This is an enjoyable way to get out and about in your local area to meet people and chat to them about the RSPB and its work. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work, as well as provide opportunities to meet other volunteers through annual thank you events, newsletters and social networks. We are looking for a friendly and personable person with a high level of motivation, good communication and computer skills and an ability to work on own initiative. We would like you place and manage five to ten pin badge boxes in shops and visitor attractions within your community. Our enamel badges depicting a large range of wild birds, animals and plants are extremely popular. We will ask you to visit these sites every four weeks (at your convenience), count funds, issue a receipt to the site, bank the money at any post office or Pay Point location, record the income on our online system and replenish boxes with pin badges. You will have regular contact with RSPB Community Fundraising staff or an Area Co-ordinator in your locality. Appropriate training and friendly support will be provided and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary. The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing – help us keep it that way.
