Are you a natural leader who knows how to motivate a team to succeed and has a few hours to spare each month? Will you bring your love for the natural world to life to engage your team to inspire donations and give our supporters the best customer service?
You will manage and oversee a team of volunteers who will promote our fundraising pin badges and collections, raising vital funds for our conservation work in Scotland. Of the 6,000 UK species surveyed recently, more than 1 in 10 are under threat of disappearing from our shores altogether. Do you have the commitment, drive and passion to galvanise your team and community into action? We need people like you who are not afraid of getting stuck into any challenge, setting direction and motivating your team to make the most of every available opportunity to raise funds. Your role will include:
• Actively recruiting and managing a network of up to ten local volunteer Community Fundraising Collectors
• Strategically planning venues to target for our pin badge and bucket collecting schemes
• Working closely with volunteers to secure and maintain pin badge box sites
• Organising street and bucket collections in local stores and venues
• Ensuring that volunteers bank and report funds in a timely and compliant way
• Monitoring our ROBINS computer system reports and dealing with any discrepancies
• Thanking our supporters and issuing certificates
The Community Fundraising Team is ambitious. Our amazing volunteers grow financial support for RSPB in our communities and ensure that every person they meet gets a special experience of nature, wherever they are. Lead something different. Help us give nature a home today.
No knowledge of birds required!
Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be reimbursed where necessary.
This is an enjoyable way to get out and about in your local area to meet people and chat to them about the RSPB and its work. The RSPB is an active and exciting conservation charity, the largest in Europe! We can help you gain skills and give you a valuable insight into our work, as well as provide opportunities to meet other volunteers through annual thank you events, newsletters and social networks.
We are looking for a friendly and personable person with a high level of motivation, good communication and computer skills and an ability to work on own initiative. We would like you place and manage five to ten pin badge boxes in shops and visitor attractions within your community. Our enamel badges depicting a large range of wild birds, animals and plants are extremely popular. We will ask you to visit these sites every four weeks (at your convenience), count funds, issue a receipt to the site, bank the money at any post office or Pay Point location, record the income on our online system and replenish boxes with pin badges. You will have regular contact with RSPB Community Fundraising staff or an Area Co-ordinator in your locality.
Appropriate training and friendly support will be provided and expenses will be re-imbursed where necessary.
The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment. We rely upon memberships and donations to fund our work. By volunteering your time and skills, you could make a real difference to the work of the RSPB. Nature is amazing – help us keep it that way.
