Join our fantastic team of Kiltie volunteers and help support thousands of walkers as they take on the Glasgow Kiltwalk and fundraise for a charity close to their heart.
As a Route Motivator Kiltie (course marshal), you will be positioned at key points along our 23 mile route from Glasgow Green to Balloch. You will be responsible for directing walkers, ensuring they follow safety guidelines and providing them with support, encouragement and motivation when they need it most. This is a fun-filled role and one of the most important to our walkers.
The Glasgow Kiltwalk will take place on Sunday 28 April. Shift times are as follows, however we can offer flexibility if required. We will work with you to find a position along the route to suit.
7am – 3pm
8:30am – 1pm
8:30am – 4pm
11am – 7pm
11am – 9pm
Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016. The kind-hearted Kiltwalk community have taken big strides for charities close to their hearts and together with The Hunter Foundation have managed to raise a staggering £42.5 million to date. All funds raised have been distributed to 3,330 Scottish Charities.
Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line. Be part of a feel-good event, soak up the Kiltwalk atmosphere and meet like-minded people. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience in the events industry. It truly is a rewarding day!

Join our fantastic team of Kiltie volunteers and help support thousands of walkers as they take on the Glasgow Kiltwalk and fundraise for a charity close to their heart.
We are looking for Venue Kilties to support at our start lines in Clydebank and Lomond Shores and Pit Stop Kilties to support at our Pit Stops in Dumbarton and Vale of Leven. Tasks will include welcoming, encouraging and assisting walkers, supporting at the info tent and luggage drop off, directing walkers and handing out snacks and water.
The Glasgow Kiltwalk will take place on Sunday 28 April. Shift times are as follows, however we can offer flexibility if required:
Venue Kiltie, Big Stroll Start, Clydebank: 6am – 2pm
Venue Kiltie, Wee Wander Start, Lomond Shores: 7:30am – 12:30pm
Pit Stop Kiltie, Meadow Leisure Centre, Dumbarton: 8:30am – 6:30pm
Pit Stop Kiltie, Vale of Leven: 9:30am – 8:30pm

With a selection of roles to choose from, there really is something for everyone! See our walkers off at the start line, welcome them across the finish line or help them recharge at one of our Pit Stops. You can also provide support on the route by cheering and directing walkers. You can do this on foot, by cycling or by driving – we have options to suit all.

Are you a keen cyclist? Apply now to volunteer at the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2024! We are looking for cyclists to join our Route team and help support thousands of walkers as they take on the Glasgow Kiltwalk and fundraise for a charity close to their heart.
As a Route Kiltie, you will be responsible for patrolling a designated area of the route on bike and reporting any issues via radio to the Event Control Room (ECR). This role is vital in ensuring the safety of our walkers. Other tasks include communicating with the Route team via Whatsapp, encouraging and supporting walkers, checking in with Route Motivators within your zone and assisting with the removal of signage. A bike and helmet can be provided if required.
