Are you a people person, good listener, enjoy a good chat and would like to be there for someone living with a terminal illness? We would like to hear from you. We provide companionship, practical and emotional support to people living with a terminal illness. We know that little things make a difference. Having someone to chat to over a cup of tea, help to get to an appointment or go shopping or lend a friendly ear. You will be matched with someone who you will visit in their home. We will work with you to find what time of day suits you and the person you are supporting. Our service is entirely based around the person who is terminally ill and what support they need. Support our busy fundraising teams by delivering fundraising materials in your local community. This may also involve picking up money from supporters and helping to bank the money All tasks can be adapted to individuals’ skills and availability. Tasks may include; -Supporting local fundraising groups by dropping off materials -Collecting and banking local cans in sites around the community -Helping to bank money -Collecting donations from local Marie Curie Supporters -Placing posters in local community.

Could you place Marie Curie collections tins and boxes in your local neighbourhood? Collection Box Coordinators help to raise money and awareness for Marie Curie by placing and emptying collection boxes during our Great Daffodil Appeal and collection tins for the rest of the year. Using your local knowledge and confidence in talking to potential new shops, pubs, and businesses you will build and manage your own group of collection sites, through placing new tins and boxes, regularly emptying existing ones, banking any money raised and thanking your supporting sites. Collection Box coordinators play a key role in raising income and spreading awareness of Marie Curie, supporting collections and events and being the local contact in their neighbourhood. Collection Box Coordinator’s tasks include, but are not restricted to some of the following; -Place and empty collection boxes in pubs, shops and other locations -Be the cheery face of Marie Curie at our collections, holding a bucket or tin and collecting money -Promote events and speak to the public about events in their area

Marie Curie are looking for volunteers to become members of their local fundraising groups across the UK. Their groups are dedicated to raising funds so that Marie Curie can continue to care for people with terminal illnesses in their own homes and in their hospices. Along with other group members, you will organise collections, fundraising events and encourage support for Marie Curie in your local community. In addition to group members, there are other tasks available within the groups including Chair, Secretary and Treasurer Fundraising groups in Fife are currently located in; Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline, St Andrews Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks: -Help to organise collections, events and other fundraising activities -Help to promote the work of the charity and encourage support from the local community -Regularly attend and participate in group meetings -Complete agreed action points following meetings Certain roles would have additional tasks – you can discuss these when you apply for a role.
