Current opportunities

R:evolve clothing shops are not just your average charity shop; they are unique second-hand boutiques with a West End feel without the West End price tag. R:evolve are funded by the Climate Challenge Fund to encourage people to think differently about the impact fashion has on the environment and asks their customers to use R:evolve to swap their clothes instead of buying something new. They are looking for volunteers to join their organisation as Swap Shop Assistants - helping their customers swap their unwanted clothes for some pre-loved items that they would like instead. Tasks include: welcoming customers, recording incoming/outgoing items, sorting/steaming clothes, displaying stock and promoting the services locally. If you are looking to give something to your community, gain work experience, meet new people, or are interested in fashion or the environment, then why not get in touch?

LEAP have established a free shopping and prescription delivery service for eligible older adults who are self-isolating due to the Coronavirus pandemic and have no other means of support. Fully trained LEAP Personal Shopper Service volunteers will provide essential deliveries to support older people in our communities at this time. Our personal shopper volunteers will carry out the following services: • Shopping (supermarket shops and essential goods only) • Prescription delivery LEAP will not ask volunteers to do: • Personal banking including cashback or other errands • Non-essential shopping • Face to face visiting Who is eligible? This is an unprecedented situation and therefore this service is only available to people who are self-isolating and unable to go out in the community themselves and do not have support from family or friends during the pandemic. We are able to support people who would normally have family or friend support but do not at this time because their family or friends are also self-isolating. To qualify for the service, a client must meet the following criteria: • Aged 50-70 with underlying health conditions OR • Aged 70 plus with or without underlying health conditions AND • Do not have support from friends or family at this time. Why is it safer? LEAP is an award-winning charity with a 27-year history in working with older adults and enhancing the lives of people aged 50 plus living in South Lanarkshire. We want to support our community at this time. We will do this by: • All shoppers trained in safe delivery procedures incorporating social-distancing measures • All shoppers will use strict hygiene procedures to ensure we do not bring infection to clients • Payment of goods upon delivery of service, no up-front charges • Payment methods to suit you: cash, card, bank transfer or cheque • Service provided by a reliable and reputable organisation
