Current opportunities

We are looking for volunteers to be involved in gardening at our garden at Seaview Children’s Unit. Seaview is a residential and respite centre for children and young people with severe needs. Volunteers will work with the gardener to maintain and develop the garden doing weeding, watering, planting, propagation and creative projects. The garden offers a therapeutic space for the children and young people, staff, parents and visitors to Seaview. Gardening experience is not required.

We are looking for people to join our board of trustees who can bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the role. Currently we are seeking a Treasurer, a Chair and a Secretary. The Chair will hold the Board to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The responsibility of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the organisation's affairs, ensuring its financial viability and that the organisation has policies and systems in place to ensure robust financial planning, implementation, and reporting. The Secretary will be responsible for organising meetings and preparing agenda, writing annual reports, connecting with other organisations and supporting our therapeutic gardener. All of the trustees help support each other, experience and knowledge of being on a board is welcome however we are happy to provide training and guidance. If you’re passionate about supporting our work and ensuring its continued good work, we would love to hear from you.
