Current opportunity

Do you understand and empathise with the impact that poor mental health has on people’s lives? Are you passionate about helping people out? Are you outgoing, respectful, supportive and non-judgmental? You can be a holding hand for someone who needs additional support accessing community-based activities and groups. Join The GO Project and empower individuals to achieve positive health outcomes! Many people don’t find it easy to walk into an unfamiliar environment and engage with people they don’t know, others struggle to use public transport or cope with social situations. As a volunteer you will enable individuals to progressively overcome the challenges they experience and take back control on their lives. You will encourage them to participate fully in local activities of their choice as a way of helping them overcome their condition and improve their wellbeing. Activities include arts & crafts, gardening, cooking classes, walking groups, learning opportunities, to mention just a few. This often involves accompanying the person to a community centre or local group and joining in through the session.
