Current opportunity

At Macmillan we give people with cancer everything we've got. Event Support Volunteer (Kiltwalk Glasgow - 28 April 2024) The Kiltwalk is back again in 2024 across Scotland and we need your support to cheer on our incredible Kiltwalkers as they take on their incredible walking challenges of either 23, 14 or 3-mile walks in Glasgow. Join Team Macmillan making lots of noise as we cheer on the walkers from the sidelines, getting them closer to that finish line! We would love you to join our team as an Event Support volunteer and help support everything on the day. Our walkers rely on the encouragement and motivation they receive from our volunteers and many report that this is what ultimately gets them across the finish line. Be part of a feel-good event, soak up the Kiltwalk atmosphere and meet like-minded people. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience in the events industry. It truly is a rewarding day! With a selection of roles to choose from, there is something for everyone! See our walkers off at the start line, welcome them across the finish line or help them recharge at one of our Pit Stops. You can also provide support on the route by cheering and directing walkers. You can do this on foot, by cycling or by driving – we have options to suit all. By sharing your skills and time, you'll have a rewarding and fun experience, helping us to deliver an excellent experience for event participants and meet new people as part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community. Together, we can be right there for people with cancer. Please note timings and locations may be subject to change by event organisers. Exact details will be confirmed in your volunteer brief sent a few weeks before the event.** **We try to be as flexible as possible so please speak to a member of the team if you're unable to commit to one of the full shifts listed or have any concerns.** If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on
