GroceryAid (Aberdeen & Grampian Services)

Making life better for grocery people in need; from factory to store, we help everyone. Real lives. Real problems. Real help. Everyone in need can turn to us

Current opportunity

The role of the Volunteer Assessor is vital in helping GroceryAid support people with financial help. Last year we spent nearly £4 million pounds in financial assistance. If you are a good listener, enjoy meeting people, have an ability to recognise needs and apply solutions and would like a flexible voluntary position that fits around your lifestyle - this could be the role for you. As part of this role you will visit our beneficiaries in your area at least once a year in their homes. The recommendations of our assessors often result in beneficiaries receiving basic household items such as fridges, cookers, beds as well as emergency grants to help with items such as boiler repairs or a leaking roof. The Welfare Assessors are our 'front line' who, by their visits are able to ensure the continued welfare of our beneficiaries. Every report is studied and acted upon where necessary, and without their input we may be unaware of the real needs of our members. This is a very rewarding role with GroceryAid.
