People Know How

Charity registered in Scotland SC043871

People Know How is a Scottish social innovation charity founded in 2013 on the principle that people know how to identify their needs and the solutions that will help them fulfil their potential and solve social issues. People often don’t realise that they know how, and that’s where we come in – unlocking ideas for a better future, today. We call this social innovation.

People Know How aims to achieve three main outcomes:

Ensure positive school transitions for all children and young people
Eliminate data poverty through connectivity for all
Establish social innovation in the public consciousness

Role purpose We’re looking for volunteers to act as crew on board our canal boat All Aboard on Edinburgh’s Union Canal. The boat takes various groups on short cruises throughout the week, ranging from young people, families and adults supported by charity People Know How to members of the Polwarth Church community. Groups will be engaging in charity projects ranging from themed clubs to wellbeing support, or spiritual events held by the church. As the groups on the boat vary, a willingness to engage with different communities is essential.

We’re looking for volunteers to support people with digital, offering face-to-face help at our digital groups You’ll be part of our Reconnect service.
