A Refurb Assistant at the Turing Trust will be taught all of the procedures we implement to restore a donated PC into a brand new elearning machine. The main tasks involved in the role include: computer repair, computer wiping, data management, PC installation, stock management and a variety of others. In this opportunity you will learn a huge amount about PC repair, maintenance and data management.

We need the help of a volunteer driver with their own car to help us collect donations of ICT equipment. This role is vital to our work in getting thousands of computers into African schools, enabling otherwise waste computers to have a second life in a classroom.
The role is quite flexible as we can coordinate collections of computers to suit you. To support us in this role you must have access to your own vehicle, have a valid UK driving license and be able to lift 20kg. Our operations in our Edinburgh facility include taking deliveries of IT equipment, securely wiping sensitive data and ensuring good working order before packaging for container shipments to schools in Africa. We
often receive a wide variety of donations from single laptops to hundreds of desktop PCs at once.
