Roles within the Food bank may include; help recruit volunteers, co-ordination of the volunteer team, monitor stock levels at the centre, plus other more general Food bank duties. Ideal for both someone looking for a challenge or to someone looking for a regular volunteering role.

• Lead a team of volunteers to ensure that all areas of the Foodbank Distribution Centre is run efficiently, effectively and to a high standard, in accordance with ABNF policies, procedures. • Ensure Centre is adequately staffed when open. • Ensure clients receive appropriate food parcels on presentation of vouchers. • Maintain standards of HSW, Environmental Health & Security of allocated premises. • Coordinate the respective volunteer team and train volunteers to undertake allocated responsibilities and to meet relevant standards. • Deal appropriately with any physical or verbal aggression from clients or any other issues. • Ensure the foodbank centre is a safe space for all clients and volunteers and that safeguarding procedures are understood and implemented, and client confidentiality respected. • Monitor stock levels at Foodbank Distribution Centre and liaise with the Warehouse Coordinator to request re-supply of food and other provisions, as required. • Occasionally, this may include purchasing additional stock using a pre-paid card (in accordance with financial procedures). • Monitor local supermarket/other agency food donations and arrange collection and transportation to the warehouse. With the Assistant Manager, arrange annual stock check and ensure correct stock levels in the foodbank database. • Be the first point of contact for Foodbank Centre/Warehouse enquiries via phone or email (or delegate when/where appropriate) • Communicate with referral agencies in response to queries or issues arising from vouchers presented by clients at the foodbank centre. • Ensure all completed red vouchers and packing lists are handled discretely, stored securely, and passed on regularly to the admin volunteer for entering into the data collection system (in accordance with data protection procedures). • With Assistant Manager, organise volunteer rota for supermarket food drives. • Liaise with supermarket instore community champion (or similar) when organising the food drive and maintain communication during the collection period.
