Macmillan Cancer Support

Charity registered in Scotland SC039907

Founded in 1911, Macmillan Cancer Relief (formerly Cancer Relief Macmillan Fund) works to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. Each year they help more than 200,000 people throughout the UK. They provide funding for Macmillan nurses, doctors and other posts, provide patient grants, fund building developments or refurbishments and provide an information service. They can help by giving benefits advice and showing you how to fill in forms and apply for grants. Find local services on the website.

Current opportunities

Macmillan has an exciting opportunity to create a brand new Fundraising Group in Midlothian to raise vital funds and awareness so that we can support more people affected by cancer when they need us most! There is no pressure, and you can give as much or as little time as you like! Fundraising is a great opportunity to be social and have fun, while making a great difference to people affected by cancer. Join our new Group, and invite your friends to find out more information! We would love to see you there!

We are looking for people to help lead and inspire our Macmillan Action Team volunteers at events across the Edinburgh area. What’s involved? Coordinate and organise volunteers to take part in local activities like cheering at events or bucket collections. Support, inspire, lead and motivate volunteers on the day so they have an excellent volunteering experience. Count and bank cash collected, if applicable. Signpost people to Macmillan’s website or helpline number for support.
