About us
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Wick is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Deputy Lifeboat Press Officer. The role of the Deputy Lifeboat Press Officer is to support and deputise for the Lifeboat Press Officer.
Established in 1848, Wick Lifeboat Station in the far north of Scotland operates an all-weather Trent class lifeboat. Crew members have been recognised by the RNLI for their lifesaving achievements 11 times.
The impact you will make
You will help us save lives at sea by raising awareness of the RNLI, through promoting the activity of the lifeboat station, highlighting the lifesaving work of our volunteers and sharing key messages via local, digital and social media.
What you will be doing
Keeping local media informed of lifesaving activity, promoting newsworthy rescues, lifeboat station events and RNLI campaigns via a variety of channels
Producing and distributing regular new releases with photos and/or video, to a standard RNLI format by email, uploading to the RNLI News Centre and posting to social media
Being available to answer media enquiries
Supporting or arranging media opportunities when requested by the Media Engagement Team
Briefing station representatives and crew members for interview or acting as spokesperson
Keeping the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Regional Media Engagement Team informed of all media activity and reputational concerns
Attending station management meetings and liaising regularly with fellow officers about current activity
Acquiring and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of your lifeboat station and the RNLI

Excellent writing, communication, and IT skills
Good interpersonal and media relations skills
Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible
Influencing, tact and diplomacy skills
Interest in new media/video editing/photography

About us
We are currently looking for a Branch Secretary to join the Loch Ness Branch.
The RNLI has a network of local fundraising teams organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each team is supported by a Community Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the team members themselves.
The impact you will make
You will enable volunteer RNLI lifeboat crews to save lives at sea by carrying out and supporting vital fundraising activity in your local community.
What you will be doing
Being the primary point of contact between the group and the Volunteer Experience Team
Dealing with all group correspondence and regularly distributing information to members
Ordering fundraising materials and printing
Organising and administering meetings and assisting at fundraising events and activities
Encouraging and welcoming new members and supporters into the RNLI, driving our One Crew ethos

About us
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Kyle of Lochalsh is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Deputy Launching Authority.
Operating from the Sound of Sleat to the south, the Inner Sound to the north and the 6 sea lochs in between, Kyle of Lochalsh Lifeboat Station’s B class lifeboat carries out a wide variety of rescues.
The impact you will make
This role will help us save lives at sea by carrying out the day to day management of the lifeboat station to ensure a permanent state of readiness for service.
What you will be doing
Authorise launch of the lifeboats
Provide leadership in the absence of the Lifeboat Operations Manager or as delegated
Ensure that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboats and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service.
What you need for this role
Team player
Good communicator
Leadership skills
Local maritime knowledge
IT literate (desirable)
Live or work within 20 minutes of the station and be between 18 and 70 years of age
Knowledge of the RNLI (desirable)

Leverburgh Lifeboat Station was established in 2012. It houses a B-class lifeboat.
