Health in Mind promotes positive mental health and wellbeing in Scotland.

Our team of professional support staff and committed volunteers work in partnership to deliver a unique and wide ranging mix of individual and group support services in Edinburgh, Midlothian / East Lothian and the Borders.

In particular it seeks :
To provide and enable the provision of Mental Health Services.
To provide information on and understanding of all aspects of mental health.
To influence mental health policies and campaign for mental health resources.
To achieve its aims and objectives through consultation with all interested parties.


Current opportunities

In order to raise money to support the work of Health in Mind, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our fundraising group. This group will organise events to generate funds that will support our mental health services. If you are interested in events, fundraising or a career in the third sector, this will be a fantastic experience for you. You'll meet a fantastic group of people and support your local mental health charity at the same time. Everyone has the right to live a full and satisfying life. To find out more about the work we do, please visit health-in-mind.org.uk Group Tasks: • With help and guidance from the Events Fundraiser, you will meet fortnightly to discuss fundraising ideas and from these meetings organise bi-annual events for Health in Mind. • Promotion and running of events.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our volunteer fundraising collections group. We will be holding fundraising collections at various venues across Edinburgh this year and we are looking for volunteers to help out by: - Holding buckets to collect donations - Handing out leaflets and stickers to the general public Even an hour or two of your time would be fantastic! Can you support someone to make connections in their community? re:discover volunteers support people 1-2-1 for up to 6 months that are experiencing loneliness and isolation that want to improve their mental health and wellbeing by: - Exploring social activities with them - Supporting them to meet other people - Help them feel more confident in social situations

Rediscover Pathway supports adults who have experienced childhood abuse or neglect in care to make connections within their community. Connecting befrienders offer the opportunity for people to build safe, trusting relationships, to explore social activities and to focus on interests and skills rather than problems. Activities have included visiting art galleries, attending cooking classes, going to the gym, cinema visits and walking. Matches meet weekly or fortnightly for up to one year. We offer training, regular supervison and cover expenses.
