Blythswood Care

Charity registered in Scotland SC021848

Blythswood Care was started in 1966 by a group of theological students in Glasgow, and aims to spread the Christian gospel through publishing tracts and by giving a little practical help to those in need. A large part of Blythswood's present work is concentrated on Eastern Europe. Truck loads of aid which are gathered from our depots across the United Kingdom are regularly sent to Romania. Projects include a home for Rumanian street children.

Current opportunity

Blythswood care are looking for volunteers to help in their shops in Buckie and Keith as well as Huntly and Nairn. Duties can include pricing and sorting items, displays, using till. Volunteers are required to complete a short volunteer application form, giving two referees, and also to agree to our volunteer policy. We then hold a short, informal interview with the applicant and contact the referees by phone. If both the interview and the references are acceptable, the volunteer is free to start with Blythswood. The procedure is very simple and straightforward. Volunteers can commit to a little time as long as it is regular. At Blythswood we like to encourage volunteers to progress either to further employment to for any of the reasons that people want to volunteer.
