Current opportunity

The St Matthew's Centre is entering into an exciting period of growth and development and are looking for trustees to bring additional skills to our already established board. We are an independent multi-use community centre in North Glasgow looking for new Trustees! We are a multi-use community facility in Possilpark where people come to live, learn and grow. We work across 4 key areas: 1 - providing a safe, warm and welcoming space for other organisations and community groups to deliver activities with the local community. 2 - providing space for local organisations and people to rent office space to further develop their own projects. 3 - delivering a range of activities to support improved health and wellbeing in the community. 4 - engaging with local partners to support a more cohesive approach to community development. We are now looking for people with a passion for community engagement and development to support our journey. We have a minimum of 4 meetings plus our AGM per year, either via zoom/in person or a blend of both. We are particularly looking for trustees with experience and skills in HR, IT and Business but are open to other skills and a desire to learn new things too! We have a very small staff team and successfully matched volunteers would support the management of the team, oversee our financial health and support our various initiatives and events. You will be given the opportunity to attend relevant training sessions and receive peer support from our existing board of trustees. If you are interested please click the ‘apply button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the Project Manager by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow at info@volunteerglasgow.org
