Cameron’s Champions is a befriending scheme for older people in the Forres area. Volunteers are expected to be able to spend a minimum of 1-2 hours per week/fortnight for a minimum duration of 6 months. The support provided by Cameron’s Champions might include accompanying clients to social events, activities, or perhaps to attend health appointments. Most importantly they will be able to spend valuable time with the client and give individual attention and support.
Cameron’s Champions aim to help clients to build their confidence and to increase their independence by providing a listening ear and encouraging the client to get out and about to rediscover old interests and find new ones.Volunteers are being sought from the local Forres area.
The Forres pantry is open on Saturdays from 10am-noon in the Lesser Hall, and contains quality fresh and frozen surplus food via the FareShare scheme, which would otherwise go to waste. There is a small charge for people to access it, but the value of their shopping will be much higher than what they actually pay. Volunteers are required to help out. If you are interested please call FACT on 01309 674 388 or email email@example.com if you can help.
