Current opportunities

Provide entertainment as Goldie the Youthicorn, the Renfrewshire Year of Young people mascot. This includes wearing our mascot costume and interacting with local people, posing for photo opportunities and attending a variety of events throughout the year. These events include local gala days and their accompanying parades, major council run events such as Sma’Shot Day and Open Doors Day and other opportunities for promoting the YOYP. Volunteers will be required to conduct themselves with respect for council policy and also the values of the youth services team in order to maintain the profile of Goldie. This includes body language, mannerisms and attitude. Volunteers may also be asked to chaperone other volunteers or youth services staff wearing the costume.

I am currently looking for volunteers with a love for the outdoors who would be willing to give up a couple of hours of their time each week to be part of a team of volunteers leading health walks around the Renfrewshire area. A health walk lasts up to an hour and is pretty flat and walked at an easy pace, the walks are inclusive to all abilities and take place in local community areas with Renfrewshire.
