Dumfries Theatre Royal Trust
The Guild have been performing in the Theatre Royal ever since, putting on a regular season of five shows and a Christmas Pantomime, as well as starting the Junior Guild to encourage younger members of the community to participate. The Guild’s most recent activities have seen a further refurbishment and expansion of the theatre, restoring and expanding the building to provide a much improved facility.
Designing sets for Guild of Players productions - 4 per year plus a pantomime, working with the show director and production director to agree requirements and overseeing set construction and dealing with any queries.
The Front of House team's role is to welcome patrons to the theatre and ensure everything runs smoothly in the auditorium and public areas. Duties include checking tickets, directing patrons to seats, selling ice cream at the interval, assisting with fire safety procedures and generally providing a good visitor experience for audience members.
Assist with constructing sets as part of a team, including painting and making props, according to a design.
Serving alcoholic and soft drinks and coffees before shows and at the interval, taking cash and card payments, keeping the bar area clean and tidy and helping to prepare pre-ordered drinks.
