To enable girls to mature into caring, helpful and friendly confident capable women, determined as individuals to realise their potential in their careers and personal lives.
Hopefully they will be willing to contribute to work within their communities and wider outlook.

Current opportunities

As one of the team, young leaders attend regular unit meetings and work with small groups of young people. Part of the volunteer role includes: Keeping records of activities, helping to provide a safe environment for the girls and others working with the unit. Young leaders may participate in the Leadership Qualification, may attend District meetings, and make or renew the Promise.

You would need to have a relevant qualification recognised by Girlguiding UK. You would help to organise and carry out specific events with individual units or groups.

A Unit Leader has certian responsibilities. As part of a team and after appropriate training she is expected to: Participate in the Girlguiding UK Leadership Qualification. Run a regular meeting for the unit, with a well balanced and varied programme of activities. Ensure records of activities are kept. Ensure financial records for the unit are kept. Provide a safe environment for the girls and others working with the unit. Liaise with and take a responsibility for the personal development of Young Leaders working with the unit. Attend meetings at a local level. Make or renew their Promise.
