We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an interest in working on various outdoor projects to improve the environment of Dunblane for its residents and visitors. We meet at the War Memorial Garden on Wednesdays at 9.30 until around 11.30, and participants are welcome to come for all or part of this time. The group leader sends out an email list of proposed tasks on a weekly basis, and volunteers opt in to the weeks they are able to attend. The group create and maintain some of the garden areas around Dunblane using nature-friendly and sustainable techniques, as well as helping with other outdoor projects such as the community orchard, paths and signs. This opportunity is suitable for all age groups and abilities, and we always welcome new volunteers and fresh ideas.
Volunteers required to assist at the Braeport Memory Café Meeting Centre. This supports individuals with dementia and their family carer to enjoy an afternoon of fun and stimulating activities in a supported environment. Lunch and afternoon tea is provided.
This currently operates every Wednesday from 12.45 – 16.15.
Due to funding, we will be expanding our Meeting Centre to be two days a week so there will be additional volunteering opportunities soon.
Training and supervision will be provided. Volunteers joining Dementia Friendly Dunblane also benefit from being part of the wider Dunblane Development Trust, including Volunteer Events. Travel expenses and tea and coffee are provided.
Volunteer drivers required to help bring individuals with dementia to the weekly Braeport Memory Café Meeting Centre held every Wednesday from 12.45 – 16.15. Will collect from individuals’ home and return them after the café. You do not need to stay for the duration of the café.

You will be supported to undertake dementia awareness training, and provided with the ROSPA Volunteer Drivers Manual.
You will be introduced to the person you will be driving before you start driving them on your own.
You can claim mileage expenses at 0.45 pence per mile. Volunteer Drivers also benefit from being part of the wider Dunblane Development Trust, including Volunteer Events.
