Current opportunity

Dads Rock is a third sector organisation based in Edinburgh that focuses parenting support on Fathers and the Father-Child relationship. Our aim is to improve outcomes for Children in Scotland. We have been running for over 10 years and offer a range of services for Dads and families. Currently, we are looking for Dads to support Dads as part of our national Peer Support Programme. As a Perinatal peer support volunteer you will be matched with a Dad/Dad-to-be, who you will help on a one to one basis, building a trusting relationship and reducing social isolation. Support is provided remotely, via weekly, one-hour phone or Zoom sessions, over a total of six weeks. The role requires regular liaison and cooperation with the rest of the staff and volunteers of Dads Rock. Full training and support will be provided to volunteers, including Perinatal Mental Health and Child Protection. You will also gain practical experience of helping families affected by Perinatal Mental Health issues with ongoing support from our staff team throughout your befriending journey. You will be supporting Dads from across Scotland. You will meet a range of new people and be filled with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that you have helped make an unforgettable, positive difference to parents, babies and families.
