Volunteers are peer mentors to the community residents and both live within our city and farm communities, and manage the day-to-day domestic tasks and decisions within the building, which is their home. Volunteer tasks may include: Accompanying a resident to appointments, Helping a resident to cook a meal for the whole community, Acting as a sounding board for a problem or difficult situation, Offering mature and calm guidance.
Telephone befriending is a brilliant way to connect with someone in your area who may be feeling a little isolated or lonely, especially throughout the impact of Covid-19. By volunteering your time you will help an older person remain socially connected, and provide them with a much needed friendly ear. A weekly befriending call or distanced meet up can help develop a trusting relationship through conversation building confidence and connection.
We are looking for volunteers to join our residential community for adults who have experience homelessness. We need you to encourage and motivate community life in the village. You will live with and support up 20 community members in the village alongside other volunteers and day staff. Encourage and motivate community life. Help manage the day-to-day domestic tasks and decisions within the building. Support residents to engage in activities that will help them achieve their personal goals.
