Al Masaar is the Arabic word for a progressive path.
Our aims are:
• To become a central learning hub for educational classes and workshops for the Muslim and BME Communities
• wider community promoting unity and awareness of social responsibility.
• Develop communication skills amongst ethnic minority youth and adults to enable them to become confident members of the Scottish society they live in.
• To provide a positive understanding and awareness of Islam to the wider community to build better relations.
• Provide practical and social support to members of the local Muslim and BME community especially those facing isolation and vulnerability through outreach services.
• Support groups for new and /or vulnerable mothers in a language they can access.
• Engaging activities that help mother’s bond with their children is essential to the groups objectives. We explore areas such as mental and health wellbeing, social and skills development for both mothers and child(ren).
• We network with organisations, previously linking up with the Parenting Partnership and Child smile.
• We have teamed up with Falkirk Community Trust, Scottish Football Association (SFA) Equity Project and Falkirk Council Community Learning and Development to offer free football coaching sessions for children at primary school age. We have children from many different backgrounds and diverse cultures that come together to play, develop skills and socialise.
