Current opportunities

Eadha is one of Scotland's leading Aspen conservation charities. Aspen is a rare native tree but one which is potentially very useful and productive. Aspen rarely sets seed so propagating it is challenging. We survey the remote areas of the country to find surviving trees from which we then extract root cuttings for propagation. We then use a specialised lab to generate planting stock using tissue culture methods. They supply us with small plants which we pot up and grow on in our nursery. Aspen supports a more wildlife than any other tree and we develop woodland projects into which it can be planted. We are also growing other native trees and wildflowers. We are looking for volunteers to help us in our nursery at Bishopton to help with propagation. pot on the aspen trees. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to work, to learn new skills and help to conserve native species.
