Preservation and collection of historical and vintage vehicles to advance and promote heritage and education of the general public. To provide training in vehicle restoration, and organise meetings and lectures on a wide range of transport and vehicle subjects.
Sound financial controls and management play a critical role in good governance at the museum and we are looking for individuals to become an integral part in helping the museum achieve this You will work closely with the treasurer and finance committee to help ensure the smooth financial running of the museum. You will assist in the inputting of invoices, credit notes etc into the SAGE accounting software. You maybe asked to get involved in the everyday financial operation of the museum reviewing such things as banking, till receipts, gift aid and general duties associated with running a successful charity operation. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills or rebuild existing ones the Dundee Museum of Transport is a small charity that has big ambitions. During CoVid restrictions it should be possible for the candidate to work remotely from home where necessary.

Typical roles include, Front of House Assistant- meet and greet customer service advisers, Admin Assistants with several roles to choose from, Archivists, Social Media Leads, Writers for our magazine, Artists, Retail Assistants, Exhibition Researchers, Education Assistants and so much more!

We are one of Dundee’s premier visitor attractions (3 Star Visit Scotland award) with visitor numbers increasing year on year. We have a Trip Advisor rating of 2nd out of 120 things to do in Dundee that we are proud of and want to maintain.
The Museum is looking for motivated individuals to join our visitor services team for the coming season. The role offers the individual a chance to gain retail experience in visitor friendly environment. As part of the visitor services team you will assist with meeting and greeting our visitors, working on reception, helping out in the café or acting as a guide to ensure a first class experience. No experience is necessary and training will be given.
DMofT is looking for an individual to help maintain our growing IT network. If you have the skills to keep our pcs, laptops and other associated hardware running, updated where necessary and can help to ensure that our software programmes are correctly installed and virus free, we would love to hear from you. Our staff and volunteers have a limited range of IT skills but an ability to explain new and updated systems together with their operation would be beneficial. You would have an opportunity to help develop interactive and AI exhibits within the museum and work with us to offer an improved visitor experience.
