Marie Curie (East Lothian)

Charity registered in Scotland SC038743

We’re here for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.

We offer expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left. Our nurses work night and day, in people’s homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support. Our hospices offer specialist round-the-clock care. And we support people throughout their illness by giving practical information, support from
trained volunteers and being there when someone wants to talk.

Current opportunities

Use your skills to help our hospice. By carrying out complementary therapies on patients and carers you will help alleviate their physical and mental stress. We welcome a wide range of therapies including yoga, acupuncture, massage and reiki. It’s vital that you have completed an approved training scheme, be registered with a relevant regulatory body and have indemnity and liability insurance. Must be committed to the principles of palliative care and its application in practice. This role can either be based at our Edinburgh Hospice or at the Day Therapy Unit in St John’s Hospital, Livingston.

We are looking for volunteers to place and manage our static cans in your local area. You would visit premises on a regular basis building relationships with site contacts ensuring that boxes are well positioned and visible. After collecting you would collect, count and bank donations filling in the records required for the collection boxes.
