Our aim is to support the most vulnerable in Clackmannanshire and develop our projects and services in response to the needs of our community. The Gate Charity has recently introduced a new catering service to generate much needed funds to operate our project. For example, we provide catering for external organisation’s AGM’s, Project Launches and/or for small or large events such as fun days. We are looking to recruit volunteers to assist with this project. Volunteers will undertake general duties which would include the preparation and serving of food for all catered events. No previous experience or qualifications are required. Full training will be provided. This role is a great opportunity to learn new skills, gain valuable work experience and to socially interact within the community. Please Note: Most catering contracts can occur out with business hours, sometimes in the evenings and/or at the weekends, although we sometimes receive requests to cater for functions during the week within or out with our premises. To carry out this role, you should have: • Basic cooking skills • A non-judgemental approach to people. • Basic literacy and good communication skills. • The desire and ability to take part in a Food Hygiene Training

The Gate Charity was founded in 2011 to provide practical help for positive change by operating various projects such as a Soup Pot, Foodbank, Home Starter Pack Project, School Uniform Bank, Community Café, and small peer led social groups. Our services support a variety of people, for example those affected by homelessness, addiction, mental health conditions, social isolation and poverty. A marketing / social media volunteer will be responsible for updating our company website, our internal media folder and our Facebook page on a weekly basis. It would also be useful if the volunteer would be happy to market our services throughout Clackmannanshire to promote our projects which supports people affected by addiction, poverty, mental health, social isolation and domestic abuse. The volunteer will work very closely with our Centre Manager who will also provide any support and training required to support the role within the organisation.
