Clackmannan Development Trust

Charity registered in Scotland SC045874

“To make Clackmannan a better place to live, work and visit.”

Clackmannan Development Trust run a number of sub groups that try to encourage people to be more active in their community.

The Caring & Connected Clackmannan group provide welfare calls and contact with older members of the community with activities such as Zoom exercise classes and delivering soup & scones.

The Active Travel group run bikeability classes in Clackmannan Primary School teaching children bike skills and run a “bike bus” encouraging kids to use their bikes as a method of transport instead of taking the bus to high school. We also run Social Rides to encourage more people to use their bikes and discover new cycle routes.

We also have a community garden, where a number of volunteers tend to plants and grow veg.

Current opportunity

This service is designed to assist residents of Clackmannan, Kennet & Forestmill to stay as independent and connected as possible by helping people get to their appointments; meetings; gatherings; and/or collecting shopping, all within a 10-mile radius of Clackmannan and the Forth Valley Royal Hospital. They need a minimum of eight (8) volunteer drivers who have: their own car; a clean driving licence; valid MOT; and would be willing to take business insurance; and have a PGV check carried out (cost of which will be met by the group). They pay mileage at 0.65p per mile.
