Drink Link is a rapidly evolving organisation with the objective to help those affected by someone else’s drinking.

Our aim is to promote supportive information to people affected by someone else’s drinking.

Our objective is to:

•Relieve the needs of people negatively affected by alcohol abuse;
•Advance education in the field of alcohol misuse; and
•Advance health by promoting the provision of supportive Services of all kinds for people negatively affected by alcohol misuse


Current opportunities

DRiNKLiNK is a local charity who provides support to those affected by someone else’s drinking. Whether people are affected by the drinking of a family member, friend or work colleague, our aim is to link people to information, services and community groups that will help people in their recovery. We are a volunteer led charity and greatly appreciate the help of volunteers. DRiNKLiNK is also a recipient of the Volunteer Friendly Award national quality standard in recognition of our commitment to volunteers and excellence in volunteer involvement. DRiNKLiNK aim to achieve page one ranking for people looking for information to help mitigate the impact someone else’s drinking has on their life. We are looking for an SEO/SEM expert to manage all search engine optimisation and marketing activities. You will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks. You will also manage all SEM campaigns on Google, Yahoo and Bing in order to maximise ROI. This includes: *Working closely with the board and ensuring that priorities, goals/objectives are aligned with Drinklink’s overall objectives for Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4. *Execute tests, collect and analyse data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns *Track, report, and analyse website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns *Manage campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs and reconciling discrepancies. *Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing *Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimisation *Research and implement search engine optimisation recommendations *Develop and implement link building strategy *Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented *Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming *Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords. DRiNKLiNK is looking for a volunteer(s) to join the team to quality check and proof content. This involves: *ensuring all DRiNKLiNK material is clear and consistent, complete and credible, and that text is well written, grammatically correct and accessible. *correcting spelling mistakes and grammatical errors; *sub-editing text written by a number of authors to ensure consistent house style; *working with IT-based publishing systems and databases *liaising regularly with authors by phone and email; *checking that authors have provided all the required materials and paperwork; *resolving queries directly with the author, e.g. style and text inconsistencies; *coding manuscripts for design features, such as hierarchy of headings, to instruct the production team; *creating artwork briefs to detail the content of illustrations; *ensuring that illustrations are correctly captioned and referred to in the text; *producing or working to a style checklist to ensure consistency in hyphenation, capitalisation, formatting of references, etc; *maintaining awareness of new words or phrases coming into popular usage with a view to ensuring they're appropriate for the readership; *discussing and resolving any potentially libellous sections with the commissioning editor and author; *retrieving articles from archives and rearranging within publications; *preparing preliminary pages for the title, contents and preface of a publication; *overseeing the work of indexers, typesetters and designers. Drinklink believe that no one life should be negatively affected by someone else’s drinking. Our all-volunteer charity has so much going on but struggle to communicate it all outwardly. We are looking for someone to join our team who can tell our story, reduce the stigma around alcohol misuse and make the topic an interesting read and cause to follow. This includes: *Working in collaboration with the marketing workgroup to identify effective campaign concepts *Advise on PR activities including devising, planning and maintaining compelling editorial calendar *Use a wide range of tactics to raise the profile of Drinklink outwardly *Create an infrastructure to coordinate credible and swift responses on stories ranging from policy and research to media representations of alcohol addiction We believe that no one should be affected by someone else’s drinking.
