*Could you help develop outdoor play activities for children and young people? Would you like to help children and young people engage in activities, developing their social skills and opportunities to have fun?*
Aberlour Futures Aberdeen provide a range of play opportunities for children and young people in Aberdeen, which include school holiday play programmes in local parks and communities. The drop-in holiday programmes are popular with families who attend sessions regardless of the weather. During the school holidays we also provide a Woodland Explorers project for children and young people with support needs. Our ‘Loose Parts’ schools based programmes are delivered in school during the school term.
Volunteer Play Rangers support children to have fun, be creative, make friends and develop social skills. If you are looking for an opportunity to develop your own skills, while making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people in Aberdeen, this could be the opportunity for you.
>What will I be doing?
Volunteers can make a difference to a child or young person’s life by:
• Assisting with outdoor (and occasionally) indoor play activities delivering ‘Loose Parts’ free play opportunities.
• Encouraging children and young people to take part in activities to build confidence and have fun.
• Helping to empower children and young people to identify what their interests are and what they would like to learn.
