Current opportunities

The Fraser Centre has opened a new café in Tranent Town centre and we are looking for volunteers to help welcome guests, take orders, take payments, serve and help provide a clean and safe café for our visitors to enjoy. This is not a cooking role but training in our coffee machine will be provided. The Café aims to provide a welcoming, accessible environment in our community catering to events in the building and the general public. Volunteers would be involved in all aspects of the Café including: serving customers; food preparation; ensuring the area is clean and safe; welcoming all customers. Volunteers would be given food and hygiene training as well as first aid in the workplace training.

Event Assistant - To support The Fraser Centre Community Trust in the delivery of our film programme in our new 108c cinema in Tranent. - To provide assistance at the event under the supervision of our management team including: welcome the public to the Cinema; assist with ticketing; catering; front of house; prior, during and after the film. - To help ensure the venue is welcoming and safe for all users. - To share our love of the community, and love of films.

The Fraser Centre Community Trust opened our new community hub in November 2019. The opening of the hub was the result of a community led project which began in 2011. During the project a website was created www.friendsofthefrasercentre.com to focus on the project. With the project complete we no longer use the website but would like to record all the information for prosperity. We are looking for a volunteer, who must have their own computer and access to internet, who would be happy to work from home, flexible hours to record all the information from the website of our project.
